Programmable current mode circuits

ICECS 2001. 8th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems (Cat. No.01EX483), 2002
The paper presents a new concept of switched transconductor (ST) circuits based on the application of operational amplifiers with adjustable transconductance. It is proved that in the delay circuits proposed, one can electronically adjust its amplification, which was not possible with SI 1st and 2nd generation circuits.

A CMOS current-mode squarer/rectifier circuit

Proceedings of the 2003 International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2003. ISCAS '03., 2003
In this paper, a new current squarer and precision full-wave rectifier based on a CMOS class AB amplifier that modified to receive a differential input current has been presented. The proposed circuits are simulated with HSPICE level 49. From a /spl plusmn/1.5 V supply voltage, the power consumption of the rectifier and the squarer at the quiescent ...

An algebra for current-mode CMOS multivalued circuits

[1993] Proceedings of the Twenty-Third International Symposium on Multiple-Valued Logic, 2002
Based on the transmission function theory for voltage-mode CMOS circuits, an algebra for current-mode CMOS multivalued circuits is proposed. In this algebra, the switching state of MOS transistor and the current signal are represented by two kinds of variables, respectively.

Current-mode CMOS Galois field circuits

[1993] Proceedings of the Twenty-Third International Symposium on Multiple-Valued Logic, 2002
The use of current-mode CMOS circuits for implementation of multiple-valued logic (MVL) functions is dealt with. In particular, an application of these circuits for realizing Galois field operation is presented. An algorithm for determining polynomial representations for arbitrary functions over a class of Galois fields implementable with presently ...

Fully balanced CMOS current-mode circuits

IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, 1993
A fully balanced current-mode circuit topology has been developed for analog signal processing applications. The basic building block, a 5-V fully balanced current mirror/amplifier, has been fabricated using a standard 2- mu m n-well CMOS process. With a peak signal to bias current ratio i/I=0.5, the open-loop total harmonic distortion was-70 dB.

Current mode circuits for programmable neural networks

2000 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems. Emerging Technologies for the 21st Century. Proceedings (IEEE Cat No.00CH36353), 2002
In this paper novel AB class neuron structures that set foundations for low power VLSI neural networks and other applications are proposed. The analog AB class circuits for activation function and programmable weight synaptic connections are presented and discussed. A qualitative comparison is made between standard and proposed circuits.

Current-mode circuits for sigma-delta converters

2007 18th European Conference on Circuit Theory and Design, 2007
This paper presents the design of current-mode blocks to be used in modulator and decimator parts of continuous-time sigma-delta converters. Main blocks of sigma delta converters such as integrator and quantizer have been designed in current-mode. Through current-mode design, quantizer outputs are currents so that there is no need to use a voltage ...

Analogue Current Mode Circuits

International Journal of Electrical Engineering & Education, 1989
Circuits designed to use current as the active parameter can often outperform by a significant margin the more traditional voltage mode formulations. Many wideband circuit functions and new design opportunities are available by using current mirrors and current conveyors as basic building blocks.
