Critical onset in coherent oscillations between two weakly coupled Bose-Einstein condensates
The Josephson effects in two weakly linked Bose-Einstein condensates have been studied recently. In this letter, we study the equations derived by Giovanazzi et. al. [Phys. Rev. Lett.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...

Japan Tsunami Current Flows Observed by HF Radars on Two Continents
Quantitative real-time observations of a tsunami have been limited to deep-water, pressure-sensor observations of changes in the sea surface elevation and observations of sea level fluctuations at the coast, which are essentially point measurements ...

Particle size dependence on current velocity
AbstractThe concentration and size of particles in coastal oceans is of great ecological importance, for example for light penetration and thus primary production. A common tool to determine particle sizes and concentrations is the Laser In Situ Scattering and Transmissometry (LISST).

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Experimental Study of the Effect of Slope and Bed Roughness on Head and Body Velocities in Sedimentary Density Current [PDF]
Sedimentation in dam reservoirs is the most important phenomenon in reducing their useful life. One of the most important phenomenon affecting sediment movement in dam reservoirs is density current.

Predicting Loss of Ambulation in Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy R9
ABSTRACT Background Limb girdle muscular dystrophy type R9 (LGMDR9) results from biallelic variants in FKRP. There is limited data to predict loss of ambulation (LOA) among those with LGMDR9. Methods Participants in an ongoing dystroglycanopathy natural history study (NCT00313677) with FKRP variants who had achieved ambulation and were more than 3 ...
