Flexible Linear Array with Curvature Sensor
Advanced Materials Research, 2014A 1-MHz compact and flexible linear array transducer probe with a curvature sensor was developed to be shaped directly in human body curvatures. This transducer will be used for human bone imaging, in an attempt to substitute x-ray radiography. The curvature sensor, based on strain gauge construction, is embedded in the same flexible polymer matrix of ...

Simultaneous Measurement of Torsion and Curvature Using Curvature Fiber Optic Sensor
Key Engineering Materials, 2008Curvature fiber optic sensors are a kind of novel low cost sensors that can detect curvature directly and distinguish the positive bending and negative bending. This kind of sensor is used to detect torsion deformation of shaft in this paper. The optimal direction of curvature fiber optic sensor was analyzed in osculating plane and rectification plane ...

LPG-based sensor for curvature and vibration
SPIE Proceedings, 2016A long-period grating (LPG) written on a standard single mode fiber is investigated as a curvature and vibration sensor. It is demonstrated a high sensitivity to applied curvature and the possibility to monitor vibration in a wide range of frequencies from 30 Hz to 2000 Hz.

Hybrid curvature and modal wavefront sensor
SPIE Proceedings, 2014The crosstalk effect considerably limits the capability of holography-based modal wavefront sensing (HMWS) when measuring wavefronts with large aberrations. In this contribution, we introduce a curvature-based measurement technique into HMWS to extend the dynamic range and the sensitivity of HMWS via a compact holographic design.

Curvature sensing with a Shack-Hartmann sensor
2015Shack-Hartmann (SH) sensor, based on sampling of wavefront tilts in subapertures, is a simple, reliable, and widely used in adaptive optics wavefront sensor. A wavefront curvature sensor has the advantage of providing the results suitable for direct control of membrane and bimorph deformable mirrors [1], but requires linear registration of intensity in

Curvature sensors, adaptive optics, and Neumann boundary conditions
Applied Optics, 2001We consider the Neumann boundary-value problem for curvature adaptive optics systems. We show that, because curvature sensors average over extended regions of the wave front, inconsistent data for the solution of the Neumann problem result when the measurements are treated as local.

Drivers of Morphogenesis: Curvature Sensor Self-Assembly at the Membrane
Cold Spring Harbor Perspectives in BiologyThis review examines the relationships between membrane chemistry, curvature-sensing proteins, and cellular morphogenesis. Curvature-sensing proteins are often orders of magnitude smaller than the membrane curvatures they localize to. How are nanometer-scale proteins used to sense micrometer-scale membrane features?
