Reconsideration of Dimensions and Curve Fitting Practice in Economics Elaborating on Georgescu-Roegen’s Economic Methodology [PDF]
This paper is to examine the proper use of dimensions and curve fitting practices elaborating on Georgescu-Roegen’s economic methodology in relation to the three main concerns of his epistemological orientation.

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Algebraic Curve Fitting Support Vector Machines [PDF]
An algebraic curve is defined as the zero set of a multivariate polynomial. We consider the problem of fitting an algebraic curve to a set of vectors given an additional set of vectors labelled as interior or exterior to the curve. The problem of fitting

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Wind Turbine Power Curves Based on the Weibull Cumulative Distribution Function
The representation of a wind turbine power curve by means of the cumulative distribution function of a Weibull distribution is investigated in this paper, after having observed the similarity between such a function and real WT power curves. The behavior

We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Research on Vehicle Wheelset Wear Model Based on Measured Data
Objective Based on the measured data of the train wheelsets on Shanghai Metro Line 17, the wheelset wear pattern is studied, and a wear model of wheel rim thickness and wheel diameter is established to improve the safety and maintenance efficiency of ...

Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

A new distribution for robust least squares [PDF]
A new distribution is introduced, which we call the twin-t distribution. This distribution is heavy-tailed like the t distribution, but closer to normality in the central part of the curve. Its properties are described, e.g.
