Intersecting Branches Judging Method Based on Curve Fitting

open access: yes工程科学与技术, 2009
:To correctly recognize the intersecting curves in curve graphs used in many industries such as petroleum geology, image understanding theory was applied to judge which two intersecting branches belongs to the same curve, and the method of choosing the ...

A COMPARISON OF MIXED MODEL SPLINES FOR CURVE FITTING

open access: yes, 2007
Summary Three types of polynomial mixed model splines have been proposed: smoothing splines, P‐splines and penalized splines using a truncated power function basis.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Modeling Navigator Awareness of COLREGs Interpretation Using Probabilistic Curve Fitting

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
Despite the existence of standardized collision regulations such as the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGs), ship collisions continue to occur, indicating persistent gaps in how navigators interpret and apply these rules.

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

Gompertz: A Scilab Program for Estimating Gompertz Curve Using Gauss-Newton Method of Least Squares

open access: yes
A computer program for estimating Gompertz curve using Gauss-Newton method of least squares is described in detail. It is based on the estimation technique proposed in Reddy (1985).

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Linear System Identification as Curve Fitting

open access: yes, 2003
The purpose of this contribution is to point out and exploit the kinship between identification of linear dynamic systems and classical curve fitting. For curve fitting we discuss both global and local parametric methods as well as non-parametric ones ...
