Self-Injection-Locked Radar Using Amplitude Demodulation

open access: yes, 2021
This paper proposes a frequency demodulator using surface acoustic wave filter and power detector to replace the frequency discriminator, which has the advantages of low cost and small size.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Physical rotor speed recovery strategy for grid-forming permanent magnet synchronous generator-based wind turbines under turbulent wind conditions

open access: yes电力工程技术
After the frequency support of grid-forming permanent magnet synchronous generator-based wind turbines (GFWTs) is completed, it is necessary to promptly restore the physical rotor speed to enable the GFWTs to re-operate at the maximum power point ...

Modeling the gastric mill central pattern generator of the lobster with a relaxation-oscillator network

open access: yes, 1993
1. The gastric mill central pattern generator (CPG) controls the chewing movements of teeth in the gastric mill of the lobster. This CPG has been extensively studied, but the precise mechanism underlying pattern generation is not well understood.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Machine vision-based gait scan method for identifying cognitive impairment in older adults

open access: yesFrontiers in Aging Neuroscience
ObjectiveEarly identification of cognitive impairment in older adults could reduce the burden of age-related disabilities. Gait parameters are associated with and predictive of cognitive decline.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

CURVES AND AESTHETIC SURFACES GENERATED BY THE R-R-RTR MECHANISM

open access: yesFiabilitate şi Durabilitate, 2013
Let’s consider a mechanism having two driving elements with revolving movements and a RTR dyad, with elements of null length and aesthetic tracks of a point are determined on a rod, for various linear movement laws of driving elements. The generated curves revolve around x and y axes and aesthetic surfaces result.

Load Reduction in Wind Turbines with Bend-Twist Coupled Blades without Power Loss at Underrated Wind Speeds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Usage of composite materials in wind turbine blades is a passive mechanism to alleviate fatigue loads besides the reduction in the mass of the wind turbine system.
