An alternative singularity-free cosmological scenario from cusp geometries [PDF]

open access: greenAIP Conference Proceedings, 2012
We study an alternative geometrical approach on the problem of classical cosmological singularity. It is based on a generalized function $f (x, y) = x^{2} + y^{2} = (1 - z)z^{n}$ which consists of a cusped coupled isosurface.

Higher-order singularities in phase-tracked electromechanical oscillators [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
Singularities ubiquitously exist in different fields and play a pivotal role in probing the fundamental laws of physics and developing highly sensitive sensors.

Heterogeneous-elasticity theory of instantaneous normal modes in liquids [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Since decades, the concept of vibrational density of states in glasses has been mirrored in liquids by the instantaneous-normal-mode spectrum. In glasses instantaneous configurations are believed to be situated close to minima of the potential-energy ...

Magnetization cusp singularities of frustrated Kondo necklace model [PDF]

open access: green, 2003
Magnetization processes of frustrated Kondo necklace model are studied by means of a density matrix renormalization group (DMRG) method and an elementary band theory based on a bond-operator formalism.

Accurate Thermodynamic Properties of Ideal Bosons in a Highly Anisotropic 2D Harmonic Potential [PDF]

open access: yesEntropy, 2023
One can derive an analytic result for the issue of Bose–Einstein condensation (BEC) in anisotropic 2D harmonic traps. We find that the number of uncondensed bosons is represented by an analytic function, which includes a series expansion of q-digamma ...

Nonlinear Economic State Equilibria via van der Waals Modeling [PDF]

open access: yesEntropy
The renowned van der Waals (VDW) state equation quantifies the equilibrium relationship between the pressure P, volume V, and temperature kBT of a real gas.

Change-point detection, segmentation, and related topics [PDF]

open access: yesESAIM: Proceedings and Surveys, 2020
Recent contributions to change-point detection, segmentation and inference for non-regular models are presented. Various problems are considered including the multiple change-point estimation with adaptive penalty for time series with different ...

The λ-Point Map between Two Legendre Plane Curves

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
The λ-point map between two Legendre plane curves, which is a map from the plane into the plane, is introduced. The singularity of this map is studied through this paper and many known plane map singularities are realized as special cases of this ...

On singular solutions of the stationary Navier-Stokes system in power cusp domains

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2021
The boundary value problem for the steady Navier–Stokes system is considered in a 2D bounded domain with the boundary having a power cusp singularity at the point O. The case of a boundary value with a nonzero flow rate is studied.

Super-spinning Kerr attractors: Observational signatures of accretion tori and proto-jets

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2023
We study accretion tori and proto-jets in the field of central Kerr super-spinning attractors, exposing distinctions between Kerr naked singularities (NSs) and black holes (BHs).
