Genetic Control of Tissue Remodeling by a Non‐Coding SNP in ITGA8 Explains Carotenoid‐Based Color Polymorphism in Marine Mollusks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, the orange‐muscle giant abalone (Haliotis gigantea) is used as a model to identify a non‐coding SNP that disrupts the interaction between ITGA8 pre‐mRNA and the splicing factor ILF2, leading to altered ITGA8 splicing. These splicing changes promote carotenoid accumulation in abalone muscle through the regulation of tissue remodeling ...

Support‐Intensified Ir─P/O─Mo Cooperative Linkages for Robust Acidic Water Dissociation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An electrocatalyst with the coexisting Ir‐O‐Mo and Ir‐P‐Mo linkages is rationally synthesized for achieving exceptional bifunctional performance in acid solution. Abstract The efficient production of hydrogen via acidic water electrolysis is hampered by the sluggish kinetics of the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and the scarcity of robust bifunctional

Recent Advances in Laser‐Induced Graphene‐Based Gas Sensors: From Sensing Mechanisms to Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Laser‐induced graphene (LIG) provides a scalable, laser‐direct‐written route to porous graphene architecture with tunable chemistry and defect density. Through heterojunction engineering, catalytic functionalization, and intrinsic self‐heating, LIG achieves highly sensitive and selective detection of NOX, NH3, H2, and humidity, supporting next ...

Metastable Structure for Ultra‐Sustainable, High Capacity and Kinetics‐Enhanced Magnesium‐Ion Battery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A metastable‐phase evolution strategy is proposed for magnesium‐ion batteries, enabling the in situ formation of a metastable MgxT‐VS4 cathode during cycling. The metastable state reshapes Mg2+ storage kinetics and enhances structural stability, offering a new design paradigm for multivalent ion battery cathodes.
