Safety of Dupilumab and Risk of Cutaneous T‐Cell Lymphoma in Pediatric Patients With Atopic Dermatitis: A Data‐Driven Guide to Counseling Patients and Families

open access: yesPediatric Dermatology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Recent publications reporting increased cutaneous T‐cell lymphoma (CTCL) risk with dupilumab in atopic dermatitis (AD) have sparked debate, amplified by media coverage linking dupilumab to lymphoma. These concerns have reached pediatric populations, where we observe increasing parental hesitancy about initiating dupilumab for their children ...

Therapeutic effect of NEO400, perillyl alcohol conjugated to linoleic acid, in a mouse model of UV‐induced skin damage

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, Volume 101, Issue 2, Page 338-349, March/April 2025.
In the present work with mouse models, we demonstrate that a novel compound, NEO400, is able to profoundly protect skin against damage caused by UV radiation (UVR) when it is applied to skin post‐UVR exposure. In comparison, Aloe vera or linoleic acid are unable to achieve a similar level of protection.

Photoprotective potential of gadusol against ultraviolet B radiation in melanocytes

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
Gadusol protects melanocytes from ultraviolet B (UVB)‐induced damage without cytotoxicity. Abstract The increasing incidence of skin cancer, including melanoma, combined with the need for ultraviolet (UV) filters that are safe for human health and marine ecosystems, is driving the search for new photoprotective agents.

Zebrafish as a practical and convenient model for the study of photodynamic and photothermal therapy of solid tumors: A scoping review

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
Zebrafish provide a high‐throughput, optically transparent platform for cancer and drug screening. Their ~80% genetic homology, xenograft compatibility, and transgenic strains enable targeted photosensitizer screening, real‐time ROS and tumor imaging, and mechanistic assays, while fish embryo acute toxicity (FET) and in vitro tests streamline toxicity ...
