Ultra-Precision Cutting and Characterization of Reflective Convex Spherical Blazed Grating Elements
In this work, based on the diffraction principle of reflective blazed grating, the structure size of the convex spherical blazed grating unit is determined, the machining accuracy of the convex spherical blazed grating is formulated, the effects of tool ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Crack propagation in thin shells by explicit dynamics solid-shell models [PDF]
A computational technique for the simulation of crack propagation due to cutting in thin structures is proposed. The implementation of elastoplastic solid-shell elements in an explicit framework is discussed.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Damping capacities of cutting tool ...

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Особенности создания физической модели процесса образования элементов стружки при обработке глубоких отверстий [PDF]
The physical model of the process of chip elements' formation, when materials are processing by cutting, is offered. On the basis of offered physical model, it is possible to create the general math-ematical model, which describes the process of cutting ...
