Towards cutting force evaluation without cutting tests [PDF]
Mechanistic cutting force modelling generally involves coefficients identification from machining tests. In order to develop multi-material cutting force models avoiding identification, several studies have tried to link cutting forces to mechanical ...

Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Predictive Cutting Force Model and Cutting Force Chart for Milling with Cutter Axis Inclination
A force model for milling with cutter axis inclination is presented. The model predicts the cutting force and chip flow direction. Three-dimensional chip flow is interpreted as a piling up of the orthogonal cuttings in the planes containing the cutting velocities and the chip flow velocities in the inclined coordinate system with a ball end mill.

BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Degradation modes and tool wear mechanisms in finish and rough machining of Ti17 Titanium alloy under high-pressure water jet assistance [PDF]
This article presents the results of an experimental study on the Ti17 titanium alloy, which was carried out to analyze tool wear and the degradation mechanisms of an uncoated tungsten carbide tool insert. Two machining conditions, roughing and finishing,

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

A predictive model for the cutting force in wood machining developed using mechanical properties
In this study a number of work piece variations were evaluated whilst limiting the cutting conditions. Eight wood species controlled at four moisture levels were machined along and across the wood grain.
