Machinability analysis on helical milling of carbon fiber reinforced polymer

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2015
In the helical milling process, a rotating tool traverses a helical trajectory to generate a hole. In order to investigate the cutting state in helical milling of carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP), experiments were conducted with unidirectional and ...

Study of the local forces along a drill edge – comparison of two methodologies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In aerospace applications, drilling is one of the most common operations. However, this machining stays complex and expensive, especially in hard to cut materials. Because of the closed aspect of the operation, the measure or evaluation of the phenomenon

Pre-evaluation on surface profile in turning process based on cutting parameters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Traditional online or in-process surface profile (quality) evaluation (prediction) needs to integrate cutting parameters and several in-process factors (vibration, machine dynamics, tool wear, etc) for high accuracy.

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

The Investigation of The Effect of Cryogenic Processed PVD and CVD Coated Cutting Tools on Machinability in Turning on Hastelloy X Super Alloy

open access: yesGazi Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Dergisi, 2017
Super alloys are alloys which has the resistance of high temperatures. In addition to that, super alloys are widely used in aerospace, aviation industries, also in gas turbines because of their high creep strength and high corrosion resistance.

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

SPH method applied to high speed cutting modelling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The purpose of this study is to introduce a new approach of high speed cutting numerical modelling. A Lagrangian smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH)- based model is arried out using the Ls-Dyna software.

Inhibition of cyclin‐dependent kinases 12/13 using CT7439 as a treatment for colorectal cancer with CDK12 upregulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The proposed mechanism of action for the CDK12/13 inhibitor and cyclin K degrader, CT7439. CDK12/13 inhibition interrupts transcription elongation, leading to increased DNA damage that results in cell death. This agent is a potentially novel treatment option for patients with colorectal cancer. Created in BioRender. Cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) 12 and

Measurement of Wood Cutting Forces during Bandsawing Using Piezoelectric Dynamometer

open access: yesDrvna Industrija, 2016
Optimization of wood cutting conditions can decrease the cutting forces, which directly relates to the energy consumption. The aim of this study was to measure cutting force components in bandsaw processing of green oak and beech wood at 90°-90° cutting ...

A force model for superfinish turning of pure copper with rounded edge tools at low feed rate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper presents a model for force prediction of superfinish turning operation on pure copper. The model is divided in two parts. The first part computes the forces acting on the rake face of the tool.
