Investigation of formation mechanisms of chips in orthogonal cutting process

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2012
This work investigates the formation mechanisms of chips in orthogonal cutting of mild steel and the transformation conditions between various morphology chips. It is supposed that the modeling material follows the Johnson-Cook constitutive model.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Cutting planes for families implying Frankl’s conjecture

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 2019
We find previously unknown families of sets which ensure Frankl's conjecture holds for all families that contain them using an algorithmic framework. The conjecture states that for any nonempty union-closed (UC) family there exists an element of the ground set in at least half the sets of the considered UC family.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Numerical simulation on fragmentation of heterogeneous granite by axe-shaped PDC cutter

open access: yesJin'gangshi yu moliao moju gongcheng
ObjectivesPolycrystalline diamond compact (PDC) bits are extensively utilized in the drilling industry. However, conventional PDC cutters are prone to failure when drilling through granite formations, leading to reduced drilling efficiency.

Recovering Dantzig–Wolfe Bounds by Cutting Planes

open access: yesOperations Research
Leveraging Dantzig–Wolfe Decomposition in the Original Variable Space for Mixed-Integer Programming Dantzig–Wolfe decomposition has been extensively applied to solve large-scale mixed-integer programs with decomposable structures, leading to exact solution approaches, such as branch and price.

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.
