Marek's disease virus infection of phagocytes: a de novo in vitro infection model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Marek’s disease virus (MDV) is an alphaherpesvirus that induces T-cell lymphomas in chickens. Natural infections in vivo are caused by the inhalation of infected poultry house dust and it is presumed that MDV infection is initiated in the macrophages ...

Genome-wide analysis of Marek's disease virus proteins and their role in modulating the innate immune response in chickens [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Marek’s disease virus (MDV), the causative agent of Marek’s disease in chicken, is an important oncogenic avian pathogen which leads to world-wide economic losses in the poultry industry.

Transient Paralysis Associated with Marek’s Disease Virus (MDV) in a Poultry Flock [PDF]

open access: yes
Transient paralysis (TP) is a non-neoplastic neurological disorder in poultry caused by Marek’s Disease Virus (MDV). It is characterized by temporary ataxia and paresis, primarily due to inflammatory damage in the central nervous system (CNS) rather than

MDV-1 CVI988/Rispens疫苗毒体外感染期间VP22的表达及细胞间转导作用 [PDF]

open access: yesScience in China Series C-Life Sciences (in Chinese), 2006

Development of an ELISPOT assay for numerating IFN-γ-secreting T cells in chicken using novel monoclonal antibodies

open access: yesPoultry Science
Cellular immune responses play critical roles in the control of pathogenic infection. The measurement of antigen-specific IFN-γ-secreting T cells via an enzyme-linked immunospot assay (ELISPOT) is a valuable method for the evaluation of cellular immune ...

Marek’s disease virus pathogenesis and latency [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Marek’s Disease virus (MDV) is a highly contagious, widespread and persistent neoplastic α-herpesvirus causing extensive lymphoblastic tumours in chickens. The virus is shed in feather dust and spread through inhalation.

Epigenetic Factor MicroRNAs Likely Mediate Vaccine Protection Efficacy against Lymphomas in Response to Tumor Virus Infection in Chickens through Target Gene Involved Signaling Pathways

open access: yesVeterinary Sciences
Epigenetic factors, including microRNAs (miRNAs), play an important role in affecting gene expression and, therefore, are involved in various biological processes including immunity protection against tumors.

Marek’s Disease Virus (MDV) Meq Oncoprotein Plays Distinct Roles in Tumor Incidence, Distribution, and Size

open access: yesViruses
Marek’s disease (MD), characterized by the rapid onset of T-cell lymphomas in chickens, is caused by Mardivirus gallidalpha2, an oncogenic alphaherpesvirus commonly known as Marek’s disease virus (MDV).
