Albumin Protein Cleavage Affects the Wear and Friction of Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene

open access: yesLubricants, 2017
It is well established that the total protein concentration and albumin-to-globulin ratio influence the wear of ultra-high molecular polyethylene (UHMWPE, “polyethylene”) in joint prostheses.

Are There Radical Cyanogen Abundance Differences Between Galactic Globular Cluster RGB and AGB Stars? [PDF]

open access: yesMem.Soc.Ast.It. 75 (2004) 282, 2006
[Abridged] Norris et al. (1981) found that there was a distinct lack of cyanogen-strong (CN-strong) stars in their sample of AGB stars, as compared to their sample of RGB stars (which had roughly equal numbers of CN-normal and CNstrong stars). Similar features have been discovered in the AGB populations of other clusters.

Studies of Silver Bromide Clusters Isotopic Properties and Their Applications [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
The quantum size effect (QSE) studies of metallic and semiconductor nanoparticles have received considerable attention for their applications in superconductivity, visible light emission, quantum dot devices and industrial catalysts. The QSE properties of semiconductor AgBr nanoparticles have been thoroughly characterized for cluster larger than three ...

Epitope mapping of apolipoprotein A-I using endoproteinase cleavage and monoclonal antibodies in an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1991
The epitopes for two monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) directed towards human apolipoprotein A-I (apoA-I), designated AI-1 and AI-3, have been more precisely defined.

Rapid, efficient, and accurate determination of aflatoxins and capsaicinoids in vegetable oils by immunomagnetic sorbents coupled with UHPLC–MS/MS

open access: yesFood Frontiers
A fast, simple, and sensitive analytic method was proposed for the simultaneous quantification of aflatoxins (AFTs) and capsaicinoids in vegetable oils by immunomagnetic sorbent coupled with ultra‐performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem ...
