Morphology and taxonomy ofOscillatoria redekei(Cyanophyta) [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Phycological Journal, 1981
The polymorphous trichome apices of Oscillatoria redekei are described with respect to their shape and size. Breakage of trichomes may occur either trans- or intercellularly. The development and localization of intercellular trichome breakage were observed.

Efficiency of Glutinous Rice Straw Extracts (RD-Six) and Water Hyacinth in Inhibiting Algal Growth and Reducing Nutrients from a Hyper-eutrophic Pond

open access: yesEnvironment and Natural Resources Journal, 2021
Eutrophication is one of the main water pollution problems, which occurs throughout Thailand. This research focused on the use of glutinous rice straw (RD-Six) extract and water hyacinth to reduce nutrients and to inhibit ...

Spatial heterogeneity in summer phytoplankton communities shaped by anthropogenic and natural effects in typical coastal bay-river systems in South China

open access: yesEcological Indicators, 2023
Phytoplankton community spatial scales vary in typical coastal bay-river systems under natural and anthropogenic effects. However, their relative importance in shaping phytoplankton spatial heterogeneity has been largely uncharacterized in the literature.

Report blue-green algae from the southern coast of the Caspian Sea (City of Noor) [PDF]

open access: yesبوم‌شناسی آبزیان, 2016
The blue green algae as photosynthetic organisms have a main effect on life and productivity of the aquatic ecosystems. Intensive and longtime studies on identification, distribution, and diversity of Cyanophyta have to be a crucial task in the Caspian ...

Effects of temporal and spatial variability in energy fluxes on phytoplankton

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography, Volume 71, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Climate change has significantly altered the energy dynamics of lakes; however, little is known of how the temporal and spatial variation in energy fluxes impacts the structure and function of lake ecosystems. This study combined long‐term (2011–2018) measurements of lake energy fluxes with environmental, nutrient, and phytoplankton data at ...

Epilithic Algal and Meiofaunal Assemblages of Arctic/Alpine Lakes and Streams Along Latitudinal and Environmental Gradients in Scandinavia

open access: yesFreshwater Biology, Volume 71, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Epilithic biofilms along a latitudinal gradient of Arctic/alpine lakes and streams were analysed for their composition of algae (incl. cyanobacteria) and meiofaunal assemblages and correlated these with environmental variables. The composition of algal, meiofauna and nematode assemblages differed between lakes and streams.

DIVERSITY OF ALGAE SPECIES IN XUANHUONG LAKE, DALAT

open access: yesTạp chí Khoa học Đại học Đà Lạt, 2016
Xuanhuong Lake is considered the heart of Dalat. In this study, algal abundance and diversity in Xuanhuong Lake were studied. Water samples were collected from four different sampling sites from September 2012 to January 2013. The identified species were

Taxonomic History and State of Knowledge of the Marine Species in Nostocales (Cyanoprokaryote) From the Mexican Atlantic

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 8, August 2025.
In this manuscript we contribute a revision of Cyanoprokaryotes Nostocales in the Gulf of Mexico and the Mexican Caribbean; the list of species was updated taxonomically. Also, the historical analysis of their taxonomy was carried out. ABSTRACT Cyanoprokaryotes are organisms that perform oxygenic photosynthesis.
