QSCNAS: A platform for quorum sensing and quenching bacteria analysis in global wastewater treatment plants

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
This study identifies the potential quorum sensing (QS) bacteria in wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) and constructs a QS communication network through the establishment of a local QS bacterial database with six languages and the analysis of over 1000 activated sludge microbiome samples collected from 269 WWTPs.

Monoclonal antibodies to a membrane glycoprotein induce the phosphorylation of histone H1 in sea urchin spermatozoa. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
Two groups of mAbs reacting with external domains of a major sea urchin sperm membrane glycoprotein of 210 kD were isolated. Previous studies have shown that group I mAbs inhibit the acrosome reaction induced by egg jelly and also cause large increases ...

Photoaffinity labeling coupled to MS to identify peptide biological partners: Secondary reactions, for better or for worse?

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
Abstract Affinity photolabeling is a smart method to study noncovalent and transient interactions and provide a submolecular picture of the contacts between interacting partners. In this review, we will focus on the identification of peptide partners using photoaffinity labeling coupled to mass spectrometry in different contexts such as in vitro with a

C2‐linked alkynyl poly‐ethylene glycol(PEG) adenosine conjugates as water‐soluble adenosine receptor agonists

open access: yesChemical Biology &Drug Design, Volume 101, Issue 2, Page 340-349, February 2023., 2023
Non‐cytotoxic C2‐linked alkynyl oligo ethylene glycol adenosine conjugates are highly water soluble and stimulate adenosine receptor activity. Abstract A series of 12 novel polyethylene‐glycol(PEG)‐alkynyl C2‐adenosine(ADN) conjugates were synthesized using a robust Sonogashira coupling protocol and characterized by NMR spectroscopy and mass ...

Treatment Efficacy of Theophylline in ADCY5‐Related Dyskinesia: A Retrospective Case Series Study

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background ADCY5‐related dyskinesia is a rare disorder caused by mutations in the ADCY5 gene resulting in abnormal involuntary movements. Currently, there are no standardized guidelines to treat this condition. Objective The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of theophylline administration in improving symptoms and quality of life ...

Light‐Activated Pharmacological Tools for Exploring the Cholinergic System

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cholinergic transmission plays a critical role in both the central and peripheral nervous systems, affecting processes such as learning, memory, and inflammation. Conventional cholinergic drugs generally suffer from poor selectivity and temporal precision, leading to undesired effects and limited therapeutic efficacy. Photopharmacology aims to
