ADCY5‐Mosaic Variants: A Diagnosis Not to Be Missed

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Background An increasing number of ADCY5‐mosaic patients, seemingly with a milder phenotype, are being identified. However, an in‐depth assessment of their clinical characteristics is lacking. Cases We collected and analyzed data from 12 consecutive ADCY5‐mosaic patients diagnosed at our center and 7 cases from the literature; 63% of the ...

Cell Apoptosis and Glucocorticoid‐Induced Osteonecrosis

open access: yesMed Research, EarlyView.
The review identifies glucocorticoid‐induced osteocyte/osteoblast apoptosis as central to femoral head osteonecrosis (GION), mediated through STAT1‐caspase‐3, PI3K/Akt, Wnt/β‐catenin, and oxidative stress pathways. Emerging therapies targeting these pathways (e.g., HIF‐1α stabilization, AMPK activation, and exosome‐mediated miRNA delivery) show ...

Effects of starvation, refeeding, and fat feeding on adipocyte ghost adenyl cyclase activity

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1972
Basal adenyl cyclase activity and its response to epinephrine and glucagon were studied in isolated adipocyte ghosts obtained from fed, starved, refed, and fat-diet-adapted rats.

The use of octreotide in pediatric patients: Practical applications for gastrointestinal disorders and beyond: A narrative review

open access: yesNutrition in Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Somatostatin is a naturally occurring polypeptide hormone that exerts its effect on the gastrointestinal tract by reducing exocrine and endocrine secretion, resulting in decreased motility, gastric emptying, splanchnic blood flow, fat absorption, lymphatic flow, and gallbladder contraction.

Essential Oil Profiles of Lippia turbinata (Verbenaceae) from Argentina: Insights from a Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesChemistryOpen, EarlyView.
This study systematically reviews essential oil (EO) profiles of Lippia turbinata (Verbenaceae) populations from Argentina. A meta‐analysis reveals significant chemical variability and distinct chemotypes, primarily defined by limonene, carvone, β‐caryophyllene, and caryophyllene oxide.

Revisionist history uncovers a simplified molecular‐based classification of differentiated thyroid cancer

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology, EarlyView.
Abstract The diagnostic classification of differentiated thyroid cancer has been a longstanding topic of debate among pathologists, largely due to high interobserver variability. This complexity has increased with the expansion of tumor types and subtypes.
