Cyclic Compression and Decompression of a Lipid Bilayer
The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2013In this study, we measure transient thicknesses of a lipid bilayer during electrostatic compression and decompression and deduce non-equilibrium molecular interactions of the surfactants' tails within the layer. The bilayer under investigation (sorbitan monooleate) is single-tailed and self-assembles between a water drop and hafnium oxide in dodecane ...

Lungs Under Cyclic Compression and Expansion
Journal of Biomechanical Engineering, 1987The pressure-volume relationship of lungs subjected to repeated compression and expansion is studied in detail. The investigation was motivated by an attempt to understand why lungs are frequently injured by compression waves; hence the lung was compressed to a degree greater than normally encountered in physiological conditions.

Cyclic Frequency Estimation by Compressed Cyclic Correntropy Spectrum in Impulsive Noise
IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2019Non-Gaussianity of noises and non-stationarity of signals have been the two crucial considerations in the fields of signal processing and communications. Correspondingly, many denoising and cyclostationary methods have been published to deal with the relevant problems, respectively.

Cyclic relaxation in compression-dominated structures
International Journal of Fatigue, 1997Cracks developed in two locations of a landing gear during full-scale fatigue testing. The two locations experienced compression-dominated loading during the test. The cracking could not be explained by conventional analysis methods. There was sufficient plasticity at these locations to allow the mean stress to relax under cyclic loading.

CYCLIC COMPRESSION BEHAVIOUR OF POLYMER CONCRETE
Journal of Polymer Engineering, 2007Polymeric mortars or concrete are special building materials which can be used to repair or strengthen localized areas of structural elements. Following research on the behaviour of retrofitting reinforced concrete circular columns with FRP composite materials and bearing in mind the high strength of polymer concretes, it was decided to develop a ...

FATIGUE UNDER CYCLIC COMPRESSIVE LOAD
Fatigue & Fracture of Engineering Materials & Structures, 1984For ultra‐high strength steels and aluminium alloys, a fatigue crack could initiate from a notch tip under cyclic compressive load. The threshold value for fatigue crack initiation under compressive load can be as great as four times that under tensile load. The crack grew at a decreasing rate until eventually it stopped growing altogether under cyclic
