Triaxial tension–compression tests for multiaxial cyclic plasticity
International Journal of Plasticity, 1999Abstract The aim of this paper is to present triaxial tension–compression tests and a new triaxial specimen devoted to the study of cyclic plasticity under non-proportional loadings. Because the stress state in the central part of the specimen is not homogeneous, the analysis of the tests need a 3D finite element computation.

The characterization of marble by cyclic compression loading: experimental results
Mechanics of Cohesive-frictional Materials, 2000The degradation process of natural stones is reproduced by performing low-cycle-number, uniaxial compression fatigue tests on three different qualities of marble. A typical feature of fatigue tests is that repetition of loading cycles produces a progressive accumulation of permanent strain in the specimen, rather than any significant decay in the ...

Characterisation of resin–dentine interfaces by compressive cyclic loading
Biomaterials, 2005The aims of this in vitro study were to evaluate the ultra-morphological changes in resin-dentine interfaces after different amounts of thermomechanical load (TML), and to determine the corresponding microtensile bond strengths (microTBS). Enamel/dentine discs with a thickness of 2 mm were cut from 24 human third molars and bonded with four adhesives ...

Treatment of Femoral Nonunions by Using Cyclic Compression and Distraction
Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, 2005Eleven patients with femoral diaphyseal nonunions after intramedullary nailing were treated with cyclic compression and distraction with an external fixator over the nail. We evaluated the limitations of this technique and whether patients having this closed procedure could achieve union without additional operative procedures.

On Cyclic Scan Integrity Tests for EDT-based Compression
2019 IEEE 37th VLSI Test Symposium (VTS), 2019The semiconductor industry ramping up design capabilities for emerging technologies is facing unprecedented test quality and yield management challenges. To facilitate diagnosis of yield issues and to enable repair processes, an accurate defect isolation is needed with support of more advanced test, diagnostic, and yield analysis tools.

Predicting strength of soilbags under cyclic compression
Geosynthetics International, 2020Soilbags have a wide range of applications in geotechnical engineering. To explore the compressive strength and deformation behaviour of soilbags, a formula for predicting the strength of soilbags is derived considering the relationship between the tensile force of the bag and the vertical strain.

An Improved Cyclic Spectral Algorithm Based on Compressed Sensing
2020With the increase of types and functions of electronic equipment, the electro-magnetic environment of radar is becoming more and more complex, so it is very difficult to estimate the spectrum of electromagnetic environment. Since it does not need prior information of signal, cyclic spectral algorithm is very suitable for analyzing electromagnetic ...

Deep tissue injury (DTI) is a severe kind of pressure ulcers formed by sustained deformation of muscle tissues over bony prominences. As a major clinical issue, DTI affects people with physical disabilities, and is obviously related to the load-bearing capacity of muscle cells in various in-vivo conditions.

Crack Growth Under Cyclic Compression
Journal of Basic Engineering, 1969An investigation was made of fatigue crack growth in notched samples of 7075-T6 aluminum alloy which were subjected to cyclic compressive loading. Photoelastic techniques were employed to determine plastic strain distribution in the vicinity of the notch at different load levels.

Strain hysteresis in cyclic tension-compression and torsion
Strength of Materials, 19851. For 45 steel a nonlinear relationship between the strains in the longitudinal ex and transverse ey directions in tension-compression was established in loading above the cyclic proportional limit, which leads to the formation of a hysteresis loop. 2.
