Mechanical Behavior of Anti-Floating Anchors Under Cyclic Loading Considering Interface Degradation

open access: yesBuildings
Under cyclic loading, anchorage interfaces in anti-floating anchors may degrade, weakening bond strength and reducing bearing capacity, thereby compromising structural safety.

Golgi enzymes are retrieved from the plasma membrane to the trans‐Golgi network

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Golgi enzymes are traditionally considered resident proteins retained within the Golgi apparatus. Here, we demonstrate that a subset transiently reaches the cell surface and is subsequently retrieved to the trans‐Golgi network via retrograde transport. Using a nanobody‐based toolkit, we uncover a dynamic trafficking cycle of several Golgi enzymes.

Stress-Strain Relation of Steel-Polypropylene-Blended Fiber-Reinforced Concrete under Uniaxial Cyclic Compression

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2018
This paper investigates the cyclic stress-strain behavior of steel-polypropylene-blended fiber-reinforced concrete (BFRC) under uniaxial cyclic compression. A total of 48 prism specimens were tested for different fiber volume fractions and aspect ratios.

Emerging experimental and computational methods for studying redox‐regulated structural transitions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Redox reactions can reshape proteins and alter how they behave in cells, with important consequences for health and disease. This review explores emerging experimental and computational approaches for discovering these redox‐sensitive protein switches, revealing their structural effects, and predicting their behavior, opening new opportunities to ...

Analysis of Undrained Seismic Behavior of Shallow Tunnels in Soft Clay Using Nonlinear Kinematic Hardening Model

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
In this study, a soil–tunnel model for clay under earthquake loading is analyzed, using finite element methods and a kinematic hardening model with the Von Mises failure criterion.

Fatigue damage stiffness degradation modeling of right circular flexure hinges

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2023
Flexure hinges are susceptible to fatigue damage under cyclic loading, resulting in performance degradation. This paper investigates the stiffness degradation of the right circular flexure hinges (RCFHs) under cyclic loading.

Structures of mycobacterial 3‐methylcrotonyl‐CoA carboxylase reveal carrier‐domain translocation between catalytic sites

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mycobacterial 3‐methylcrotonyl‐CoA carboxylase uses a mobile biotin‐carrying domain to shuttle a carboxyl group between two catalytic sites, enabling carboxylation of 3‐methylcrotonyl‐CoA during leucine breakdown. Cryo‐electron microscopy captures the carrier at both sites and reveals an inward loop movement that may prevent futile rebinding to the ...

Study on the Capacity Degradation of Bucket Foundation in Liquefied Sand Layer under Cyclic Loads

open access: yes, 2010
The capacity degradation of bucket foundation in liquefied sand layer under cyclic loads such as equivalent dynamic ice-induced loads is studied. A simplified numerical model of liquefied sand layer has been presented based on the dynamic centrifuge ...
