Clustomesogen Showing Sub‐Zero Liquid Crystal Properties: Supramolecular Assembly Between Cs2[Mo6Ii8(OCOC2F5)6] and Hexaethylenoxide Containing Mesogenic Dimers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Associating a red‐NIR phosphorescent octahedral hexanuclear molybdenum cluster compound with hexaethyleneoxide chains bearing mesogenic units on both ends leads to an emissive hybrid liquid crystal showing mesomorphism on a very unusual temperature range down to −25°C.

Phase‐Pure and Size‐Tunable Tin Halide Perovskite Quantum Dots

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A trioctylphosphine oxide modulated protocol allows for the synthesis and study of the optical properties of a broad library of tin halide perovskite quantum dots across multiple A‐ and X‐site compositions with precise size tuning while eliminating unwanted 2D phases.

Fractionation of Bio-Oil from Flash Pyrolysis

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2014
Biomass is the world's largest source of renewable energy and can replace part of the fossil sources. Main components of biomass are cellulose, hemicelluloses and lignin, which are compounds of C, H and O and represent high energy content. Fast pyrolysis

Metal-Free Synthesis of N‑Aryl-Substituted Azacycles from Cyclic Ethers Using POCl3

open access: yes, 2019
A facile method for the synthesis of N-aryl-substituted azacycles from arylamines and cyclic ethers has been developed. In this study, arylamines were treated with cyclic ethers in the presence of POCl3 and DBU to provide five- and six-membered azacycles.

Enantioselective Synthesis of α,β,α‘-Trisubstituted Cyclic Ethers

open access: yes, 2016
A synthetic strategy for the preparation of trisusbstituted cyclic ethers is presented, in which the stereochemistry at the carbon atoms adjacent to the oxygen of the ether was controlled by means of a hetero Diels−Alder reaction between a monoactivated ...

Designing Strong, Tough, Fire‐Retardant and Self‐Healing Elastomers with Phosphorus/Nitrogen‐ and Biphenyl‐Containing Segments

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
By designing a P/N‐ and π–π interacting biphenyl‐containing diol as hard segments but side groups, a strong, tough, fire‐extinguishing and self‐healing elastomer is developed, demonstrating a break strain of ∼2500%, a toughness of 379 MJ/m3 and a tensile strength of 46 MPa, as well as a healing efficiency of 95% (tensile strength) and 99% (break strain)
