Photoinduced sulfonylation of cyclic ethers

Tetrahedron Letters, 2014
Abstract A one-step preparation of α-sulfonylated cyclic ethers has been achieved via the intermolecular sulfonylation of ethereal C H bonds. In this process, the chemoselective cleavage of the ethereal C H bond was achieved by hydrogen abstraction with photo-excited benzophenone, and the sulfonyl unit was provided by sulfonyl chloride. This protocol

Terpolymerization of Cyclic Ethers with Cyclic Anhydride

Journal of Macromolecular Science: Part A - Chemistry, 1973
Abstract A unique solution polymerization and polymer family have been discovered in the ring-opening terpolymerization of three heterocyclic monomers initiated by organometallic compounds, particularly trialkylaluminum. The products have repeating ether-ester-ester linkages along the chain and are alternating terpolymers, … ABCABCABC…, of three ...

The photoalkylation of cyclic ethers

Tetrahedron, 1967
Abstract The acetone, acetophenone and benzophenone-initiated photochemical alkylation of cyclic ethers with olefins is described. Alpha-alkylated cyclic ethers were obtained as the 1:1-adducts in yields of up to 40% with terminal olfeins, and yields of up to 82% with α,β-unsaturated esters.

Oxidative Kinetic Resolution of Cyclic Benzylic Ethers

Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2020
AbstractA manganese‐catalyzed oxidative kinetic resolution of cyclic benzylic ethers through asymmetric C(sp3)−H oxidation is reported. The practical approach is applicable to a wide range of 1,3‐dihydroisobenzofurans bearing diverse functional groups and substituent patterns at the α position with extremely efficient enantiodiscrimination.

Modeling Cometabolism of Cyclic Ethers

Environmental Engineering Science, 2002
The biodegradation kinetics of a mixed culture with the ability to cometabolically degrade 1,4-dioxane in the presence of tetrahydrofuran (THF) were studied using a previously published model.

Anionic copolymerization of cyclic ethers with cyclic anhydrides

1984
This article summarizes and analyzes the results obtained for the anionic copolymerization of cyclic ethers with cyclic anhydrides. This reaction is of great practical importance, especially as curing reaction of epoxy resins and is also used for the preparation of linear polyesters with special functional pendant groups.

Polymerization of cyclic imino ethers

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1969
Abstract Critical surface tensions ( γ e ) of a series of crystalline poly ( N -acyl ethyleneimines) and poly( N -benzoyl ethyleneimine) were measured. The polymers with aliphatic side chains had γ e dropping from 24.5 to 22 dynes/cm as the side chain lengthened from butyryl to stearoyl. This shows that the surfaces of the polymers comprise close

Photoreactions of benzonitrile with cyclic enol ethers

Tetrahedron, 1987
Abstract Upon irradiation, cyclic enol ethers such as 1-methoxy-cyclopentene (4) mainly add across the cyano group of benzonitrile (1), under formation of 2-azabutadienes of an imidoester type. This is in agreement with the so-called Δ G-correlation which was reported earlier (ref. 5 and 6).

Synthesis of cyclic precursors of poly(ether ether ketone)

Polymer Bulletin, 1999
A novel synthetic route to cyclic PEEK precursors is described. These new cyclic oligomers have been prepared from hydroquinone and N-phenyl(4,4'-difluorodiphenyl) ketimine. Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) analysis unambiguously confirmed the cyclic nature.

Synthesis of cyclic and acyclic enol ethers (vinyl ethers)

The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 1993
A general method has been developed for the conversion of both cyclic and acyclic acetals of cyclic ketones, acyclic ketones, and aldehydes into enol ethers through treatment of the acetal with trimethylsilyl triflate in the presence of N,N-diisopropylethylamine.
