DESTRUCTION OF GRAPHITIZED STEELS AT CYCLIC LOAD

open access: yesЛитьë и металлургия, 2010
It is determined that graphitized steels are perspective construction material, the breakage resistance and mechanical characteristics of which are determined to a considerable degree by form of graphitic impurities.

A fully implicit, lower bound, multi-axial solution strategy for direct ratchet boundary evaluation : implementation and comparison

open access: yes, 2014
Ensuring sufficient safety against ratcheting is a fundamental requirement in pressure vessel design. However, determining the ratchet boundary using a full elastic plastic finite element analysis can be problematic and a number of direct methods have ...

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Improvement of Composite Beam with Web Opening Using Posttensioning Tendons under Static and Cyclic Loadings

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering
In practice, the passage of service utilities through web opening causes a significant load-carrying capacity loss and introduces a change of failure mode of the composite beam.

A boundary element analysis on the influence of Krc and e/d on the performance of cyclically loaded single pile in clay

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
The environment prevalent in oceans necessitates the piles supporting offshore structures to be designed against lateral cyclic loading initiated by wave action.

Load-Induced Frictional Transition at a Well-Defined Alkane Loop Surface

open access: yes, 2017
Self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) have attracted considerable attention as a tool to confer desirable properties on material surfaces. So far, molecules used for the SAM formation are generally limited to linear ones and thus chain ends dominate the ...

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Cyclic Load-Induced Settlement of Foundations on Clay

open access: yes, 1998
Laboratory model test results for estimating the permanent settlement of a surface strip foundation supported by a saturated clay are presented. The tests were conducted with one model foundation and one clay soil.

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.
