A high affinity switch for cAMP in the HCN pacemaker channels
Binding of cAMP to Hyperpolarization activated cyclic nucleotide gated (HCN) channels facilitates pore opening. It is unclear why the isolated cyclic nucleotide binding domain (CNBD) displays in vitro lower affinity for cAMP than the full-length channel ...

Cyclic Nucleotide Monophosphates and Their Cyclases in Plant Signaling
The cyclic nucleotide monophosphates (cNMPs), and notably 3′,5′-cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) and 3′,5′-cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) are now accepted as key signaling molecules in many processes in plants including growth and ...

Cofactor Fingerprinting with STD NMR to Characterize Proteins of Unknown Function: Identification of a Rare cCMP Cofactor Preference [PDF]
Proteomics efforts have created a need for better strategies to functionally categorize newly discovered proteins. To this end, we have employed saturation transfer difference NMR with pools of closely related cofactors, to determine cofactor preferences.

This work presents self‐propelled CRISPR/Cas9‐functionalized Au–MRs for rapid, amplification‐free, “on‐the‐fly” DNA detection. By harnessing motion‐assisted signal recovery, the platform achieved the limit of detection in low fM DNA concentrations, enabling detection across a wide dynamic range within only 5 min, which is significantly faster than any ...

We introduce a nucleic acid nanoparticle (NANP) platform designed to be rrecognized by the human innate immune system in a regulated manner. By changing chemical composition while maintaining constant architectural parameters, we identify key determinants of immunorecognition enabling the rational design of NANPs with tunable immune activation profiles

Tunable and Recyclable Piezoelectric Biomaterials via Ion‐Directed Guanine‐Quadruplex Assembly
Guanine‐quadruplex (GQ) assemblies, formed via ion‐mediated self‐assembly of amphiphilic guanine derivatives, are introduced as tunable and recyclable piezoelectric biomaterials. Distinct alkali ions induce unique dipole configurations and piezoelectric outputs, with K⁺ yielding the highest performance.

Cyclic-FMN Is a Detectable, Putative Intermediate of FAD Metabolism
Free flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) is metabolized to flavin mononucleotide (FMN) and adenine monophosphate (AMP) by hydrolases and to 4′,5′-cyclic phosphoriboflavin (cFMN) and AMP by the triose kinase FMN cyclase (TKFC).

Cyclic AMP modulation of ion transport across frog retinal pigment epithelium. Measurements in the short-circuit state. [PDF]
In the frog retinal pigment epithelium (RPE), the cellular levels of cyclic AMP (cAMP) were measured in control conditions and after treatment with substances that are known to inhibit phosphodiesterase (PDE) activity (isobutyl-1-methylxanthine, SQ65442)
