Microstructure, high-temperature cyclic oxidation, and hot corrosion behaviors of Inconel 718 alloy produced by laser-induction hybrid cladding

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
The microstructure evolution, cyclic oxidation, and hot corrosion behavior of the unheated-treated (As-built) and solution + double aging (SDA)-treated Inconel 718 alloys fabricated through laser-induction hybrid cladding (LIHC) were investigated. It was

Hematopoietic (stem) cells—The elixir of life?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The aging of HSCs (hematopoietic stem cells) and the blood system leads to the decline of other organs. Rejuvenating aged HSCs improves the function of the blood system, slowing the aging of the heart, kidney, brain, and liver, and the occurrence of age‐related diseases.

Fabricated Gamma-Alumina-Supported Zinc Ferrite Catalyst for Solvent-Free Aerobic Oxidation of Cyclic Ethers to Lactones

open access: yesMolecules, 2023
The aim of this work was to fabricate a new heterogeneous catalyst as zinc ferrite (ZF) supported on gamma-alumina (γ-Al2O3) for the conversion of cyclic ethers to the corresponding, more valuable lactones, using a solvent-free method and O2 as an ...

The role of histone modifications in transcription regulation upon DNA damage

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review discusses the critical role of histone modifications in regulating gene expression during the DNA damage response (DDR). By modulating chromatin structure and recruiting repair factors, these post‐translational modifications fine‐tune transcriptional programmes to maintain genomic stability.

Carbon nanotube modified glassy carbon electrode for electrochemical oxidation of alkylphenol ethoxylate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Electrochemical oxidation of an emerging pollutant, 2-(4-methylphenoxy)ethanol (MPET), from water has been studied by cyclic voltammetry (CV). Multiwall carbon nanotubes glassy carbon electrodes (MWCNT-GCE) were used as working electrode due to their ...

Cyclic Oxygen Release Characteristics of Bifunctional Copper Oxide/Calcium Oxide Composites [PDF]

open access: yesEnergy Technology, 2016
AbstractIntegrated calcium–copper (Ca–Cu) looping is a novel carbon capture technology that uses copper oxide to transport oxygen and calcium oxide to capture CO2 in the same process. Investigations into the oxygen release behavior of the bifunctional CuO/CaO composite are critical to assess the potential for applying this technology to solid fuels ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
