Electrochemical oxidation behavior of some hazardous phenolic compounds in acidic solution

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Petroleum, 2017
The electrochemical oxidation of phenol, resorcinol and pyrogallol was investigated in sulfuric acid solution. Cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, EIS, were used.

Studies of High-Temperature Fatigue Behavior and Mechanism for Nickel-Based Superalloy Inconel 625

open access: yesMetals, 2022
Strain-controlled continuous fatigue and creep–fatigue tests were carried out at 700 °C and 800 °C on Inconel 625 alloy. The effects of strain rate and tensile-hold time on cyclic stress response and fatigue life were investigated.

The pyruvate generator is a common phenomenon in mitochondria from different rat and mouse brain regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The pyruvate generator, which causes activation of respiration by extra‐mitochondrial Ca2+, is also present and functional in rat brainstem mitochondria, as it is in other brain regions. This finding is confirmed by experiments with a fully reconstituted malate–aspartate shuttle (MAS).

OXIDACIÓN A ALTA TEMPERATURA DE UN ACERO ASTM A335 P 92 EN CONDICIONES ISOTERMICAS Y DE CICLADO TERMICO

open access: yesRevista Fuentes El Reventón Energético, 2014
This work describes the behavior of ASTM A 335 P92 steel under a process of continuous and cyclic oxidation at high temperatures between 450¿ and 700 ¿C in an oxidizing atmosphere.

Synthesis and oxidation of cyclic tetraindole

open access: yesChem. Sci., 2012
A cyclic indole tetramer has been synthesized via an iridium-catalysed C–H borylation–cross coupling sequence. The tetraindole has a highly distorted structure, but can be oxidized with bromine and water into a highly planar macrocycle. The oxidized macrocycle can capture metal ions in its inner cavity as a novel porphyrin analogue, accompanied by a ...

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified

Condensate Corrosion Behavior of Type 409 Stainless Steel in Simulated Automotive Muffler Environments

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2014
The cyclic method of hot exhaust gas-oxidation and condensates immersion has been adopted to simulate the internal service conditions of automotive mufflers. The condensation corrosion of 409 stainless steel was investigated during the immersion by using

The role of thermal shock in cyclic oxidation [PDF]

open access: yesOxidation of Metals, 1980
The effect of thermal shock on the spalling of oxides from the surfaces of several commercial alloys was determined. The average cooling rate was varied from approximately 240°C/sec to less than 1.0°C/sec during cyclic oxidation tests in air. The tests consisted of 100 cycles of 1 hr at the maximimum temperature (1100 or 1200°C).

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...
