A NOVEL CYCLIC OCTAPEPTIDE AS AN ANALOGUE OF CYCLIC PEPTIDE IN TRIOSTIN A

Preparative Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 2002
This paper reported an ongoing study of cyclic peptides as carriers of potential anti-tumor agents. In an effort to carry out anti-cancer drug design, we synthesized another novel cyclic peptide as the analogue of the cyclic peptide in Triostin A. The linear peptide chains were synthesized by coupling protected amino acid residues according to Pfp/DCC ...

Synthesis of cyclic α-MSH peptides

Letters in Peptide Science, 1998
Cyclic lactam analogs of α-melanocyte stimulating hormone (α-MSH) have been shown to be potent agonists in the frog skin bioassay [Al-Obeidi, F. et al., J. Med. Chem., 32 (1989) 2555], demonstrating melanocortin-1 (MC1) receptor activity. We synthesized cyclic α-MSH(1-13) and α-MSH(4-10) lactam analogs.

Cyclic Peptides for Lanthanide Binding

The Journal of Physical Chemistry B
Lanthanide ions are difficult to separate from one another due to their similar chemical properties. The discovery of lanthanide-binding peptides and proteins in nature has led to an increased interest in the possibility of utilizing the strong binding of peptides to lanthanide ions for their separations; as such, there has been an effort to identify ...

Cyclic β-sheet peptides

Our laboratory has developed a class of cyclic β-sheet peptides to study the folding and supramolecular assembly of β-sheets. The peptides consist of a peptide sequence of interest incorporated into a macrocycle with the β-strand mimic Hao and δ-linked ornithine units.

Synthesis of Cyclic Disulfide-Rich Peptides

2013
In this chapter we describe two SPPS approaches for producing cyclic disulfide-rich peptides in our laboratory, including cyclotides from plants, cyclic conotoxins from cone snail venoms, chlorotoxin from scorpion venom, and the sunflower trypsin inhibitor peptide, SFTI-1.

Self-assembly of cyclic peptides on a dendrimer: multiple cyclic antigen peptides.

Peptide research, 1997
Multiple cyclic antigen peptides (McAPs) are dendrimers that have branched, multiple closed-chain architectures. We describe an approach for their stepwise, solid-phase synthesis that permits a self-assembly of cyclization reactions of a McAP with four copies of cyclic peptides in solution after their cleavage from the resin with all protecting groups ...
