Measurements on the residual resistivity ratio (RRR) of high purity aluminium under cyclic mechanical stresses

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1996
High purity aluminium used for the stabilisation of superconducting cable achieves very low electrical resistivity at 4.2 K even at high magnetic fields. However, the resistivity is strain dependent, especially cyclic strain dependent. In aluminium stabilised superconducting magnets a strain induced increase of the resistivity can be observed after ...

Cyclic fatigue crack growth in silicon nitride: Influences of stress ratio and crack closure

Acta Metallurgica et Materialia, 1995
Abstract The characteristics of cyclic fatigue crack growth was investigated in silicon nitride which hardly shows rising R-curve behavior, using single edge precraked beam specimens. Crack growth behavior is known to be explicable by a power law relationship including both the stress intensity range ΔK and the maximum stress intensity Kmax; i.e.

AN APROACH FOR CYCLIC STRESS RATIO OF LIQUEFIED OR UNLIQUEFIED SOILS

2006

Effect of the stress ratio on the fatigue and cyclic creep of low alloy steels. Report 2

Strength of Materials, 1991
Methods have been developed for experimentally determining the fatigue limit, which has been called by the authors the minimum cyclic creep limit, and the stess limits at various cyclic stress ratios R, called the cyclic creep limits. During the cyclic creep limit tests, levels of residual stresses are achieved which are equal to the residual stresses ...

The Influence of Cyclic Impact Loading and Stress Ratio on Fatigue Crack Growth Rate in Aluminum Alloy

1983
Impact fatigue tests were carried out using a rotary type of machine. The frequency and velocity of cyclic impacts and stress ratio on fatigue crack growth rate of aluminum alloy was investigated. The difference of crack growth rate between cyclic impact and slowly-applied load was considerably large.

On the relations between cyclic contraction ratio, flow stress and deformation mechanisms in bainitic CrMoV steels: Dissertation

1987
The cyclic diametral strain and stress response of macroscopically untextured (nominally isotropic) bainitic Cr-Mo-V steels has been studied. The total axial strain amplitudes were controlled and chosen so that a range of ratios of plastic and elastic elongations were used extending from 0.04 to 5.
