Cyclic fatigue crack growth in silicon nitride: Influences of stress ratio and crack closure

Acta Metallurgica et Materialia, 1995
Abstract The characteristics of cyclic fatigue crack growth was investigated in silicon nitride which hardly shows rising R-curve behavior, using single edge precraked beam specimens. Crack growth behavior is known to be explicable by a power law relationship including both the stress intensity range ΔK and the maximum stress intensity Kmax; i.e.

Measurements on the residual resistivity ratio (RRR) of high purity aluminium under cyclic mechanical stresses

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1996
High purity aluminium used for the stabilisation of superconducting cable achieves very low electrical resistivity at 4.2 K even at high magnetic fields. However, the resistivity is strain dependent, especially cyclic strain dependent. In aluminium stabilised superconducting magnets a strain induced increase of the resistivity can be observed after ...

AN APROACH FOR CYCLIC STRESS RATIO OF LIQUEFIED OR UNLIQUEFIED SOILS

2006

On the relations between cyclic contraction ratio, flow stress and deformation mechanisms in bainitic CrMoV steels: Dissertation

1987
The cyclic diametral strain and stress response of macroscopically untextured (nominally isotropic) bainitic Cr-Mo-V steels has been studied. The total axial strain amplitudes were controlled and chosen so that a range of ratios of plastic and elastic elongations were used extending from 0.04 to 5.
