Identification of a Shiga toxin A‐derived peptide internalized into Gb3 receptor‐bearing cells via interaction with the Shiga toxin B subunit

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The process of internalization of the Shiga toxin A subunit via formation of a complex with the Shiga toxin B subunit, which specifically binds to the Gb3 receptor. The peptide is designed to act as a carrier of drugs into cancer cells. Here, we explored the potential of peptides derived from the catalytic A subunit of Shiga toxin (STxA) to be drug ...

A Preisach Model Defining Correlation Between Monotonic and Cyclic Response of Structural Mild Steel

open access: yesMathematics
This article delivers a new Preisach model representing the correlation between the elastoplastic behavior of structural mild steel under axial monotonic and cyclic loading with damage.

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

Experimental study on deformation behaviors of saturated soft clay under intermittent cyclic loading with various drained conditions

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao
In the previous studies, the cyclic triaxial tests under intermittent cyclic loading are used to study the deformation characteristics of soft clay under traffic loads. Both confining pressure and deviator stress vary cyclically in the stress field under

Structure‐forward targeting of claudins with synthetic binders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Claudins form the paracellular barriers between epithelial and endothelial tissues at tight junctions and are targets for molecular binders with the goal of modulating barrier permeability. Claudin‐binding molecules are relevant in drug delivery or in altering claudin interactions with disease‐causing proteins.

Cyclic Triaxial Testing: A Primer

open access: yesJ
Cyclic triaxial tests are frequently used in the laboratory to assess the liquefaction susceptibility of soils. This paper will serve a two-fold purpose: First, it will serve to explain how the mechanics of the tests represent the stresses that occur in the field.

Nutrient/TOR signaling controls adipose mitochondrial transcription factor A (TFAM) to regulate organismal growth in Drosophila

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Animals must match their growth rate to available nutrients. We show that in Drosophila larvae, the nutrient‐sensing TOR kinase controls growth by regulating levels of TFAM, a key regulator of mitochondrial function, in the adipose tissue. When nutrients are abundant, high TOR activity suppresses TFAM, lowering mitochondrial bioenergetic activity and ...

Behavior of a gravel-sand material on cyclic way

open access: yesJournal of Materials and Engineering Structures, 2014
This article has the results of the cyclic triaxial compression tests to study the potential of liquefaction of a gravel-sand material.  The last part is devoted to the not drained cyclic tests and their analyses.

Autophagy and mitophagy in pancreatic β‐cell homeostasis and their involvement in diabetes pathophysiology

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review focuses on the role of autophagy and mitophagy in maintaining pancreatic β‐cell function and homeostasis. We discuss how genetic defects affecting these pathways contribute to the development of type 1, type 2, monogenic, and gestational diabetes. We further explore their potential as therapeutic targets. Created in BioRender.
