Cyclic Sieving for cyclic codes [PDF]
Prompted by a question of Jim Propp, this paper examines the cyclic sieving phenomenon (CSP) in certain cyclic codes. For example, it is shown that, among dual Hamming codes over $F_q$, the generating function for codedwords according to the major index statistic (resp. the inversion statistic) gives rise to a CSP when $q=2$ or $q=3$ (resp. when $q=2$).

For all positive integers $s$ and $t$ exceeding one, a matroid $M$ on $n$ elements is {\em nearly $(s, t)$-cyclic} if there is a cyclic ordering $σ$ of its ground set such that every $s-1$ consecutive elements of $σ$ are contained in an $s$-element circuit and every $t-1$ consecutive elements of $σ$ are contained in a $t$-element cocircuit. In the case

Quasi-Cyclic Subcodes of Cyclic Codes [PDF]
We completely characterize possible indices of quasi-cyclic subcodes in a cyclic code for a very broad class of cyclic codes. We present enumeration results for quasi-cyclic subcodes of a fixed index and show that the problem of enumeration is equivalent to enumeration of certain vector subspaces in finite fields.

Hybrid cyclicity: Combining the benefits of cyclic and non-cyclic timetables [PDF]
We propose a new type of timetable that would combine both the regularity of the cyclic timetables and the flexibility of the non-cyclic ones. In order to do so, several combinations of the two timetables are considered. The regularity is incorporated in their design and the flexibility is evaluated using the passenger satisfaction (in monetary units).

Cyclical Expenditure Policy, Output Volatility, and Economic Growth [PDF]
This paper provides a comprehensive empirical assessment of the relation between the cyclicality of fiscal expenditure policy, output volatility, and economic growth, using a large cross-section of 88 countries over the period 1960 to 2004 ...
