Overview of Dysregulated Cell Cycle Mechanisms in Neuronal Cells. A nuclear import block drives cell cycle re‐entry from G0, culminating in cell cycle arrest at G1/S. This cell cycle arrest is associated with activation of CKIs from the INK locus (p15, p16, p18, p19) and Cip/Kip (p21, p27) which act on specific CDK/Cyclin complexes.

hTERT Increases TRF2 to Induce Telomere Compaction and Extend Cell Replicative Lifespan

Quercetin Reduces Vascular Senescence and Inflammation in Symptomatic Male but Not Female Coronary Artery Disease Patients

Biomarkers of Cellular Senescence in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

In cohorts of lean controls, obese participants without Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) and obese T2DM participants, we find that T‐cell expression of senescence biomarkers is altered only in the T2DM participants and not with obesity alone. Moreover, high T‐cell p16 expression in the T2DM participants is associated with impaired bone cortical indices.

Short‐Term Severe Energy Restriction Promotes Molecular Health and Reverses Aging Signatures in Adults With Prediabetes in the PREVIEW Study

Severe short‐term energy restriction in adults with prediabetes led to a significant reduction in circulating proteins linked to inflammation, senescence, and protein turnover. These changes, partly mediated by extracellular vesicles, suggest systemic dietary‐induced benefits beyond glycemic control, including improved aging biomarkers.
