Cyclin A2 as a regulator of DNA strand stability (1047.6)
Cyclin A2 regulates replication origin firing during S‐phase. It binds to Cdk1 and Cdk2 to direct phosphorylation of proteins for DNA synthesis. The goals of this study were to determine the role of Cyclin A2 in the prevention of DNA double strand breaks (DSB). We deleted Cyclin A2 in mouse neural stem cells (NSC) using a cre/lox approach.

Toward molecular phenotyping of temporal lobe epilepsy by spatial omics
Abstract Objective In temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE), detection of the epileptogenic zone predicts a good surgical outcome. When submitted to 18F‐fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (PET), some patients display lateralized, focal hypometabolism in the temporal lobe (PET+), whereas others appear normometabolic (PET−).

Highly Complex Magnetic Structures Resulting From Hierarchical Phase Separation in AlCo(Cr)FeNi High Entropy Alloys [PDF]
Magnetic high entropy alloys (HEAs) are a new category of high-performance magnetic materials, with multi-component concentrated compositions and complex multi-phase structures. Although there have been numerous reports of their interesting magnetic properties, there is very limited understanding about the interplay between their hierarchical multi ...

Micro-RNAs of the miR-15 family modulate cardiomyocyte survival and cardiac repair [PDF]
A family of microRNAs, called the miR-15 family, which includes miR-195, are shown to be up-regulated during pathological cardiac remodeling and repress the expression of mRNAs required for cell proliferation and survival, with consequent loss of ...

Cell Cycling Models of Carcinogenesis: A Complex Systems Analysis [PDF]
A new approach to the modular, complex systems analysis of nonlinear dynamics in cell cycling network transformations involved in carcinogenesis is proposed. Carcinogenesis is a complex process that involves dynamically inter-connected biomolecules in the intercellular, membrane, cytosolic, nuclear and nucleolar compartments that form numerous inter ...

A2: Efficient Automated Attacker for Boosting Adversarial Training [PDF]
Based on the significant improvement of model robustness by AT (Adversarial Training), various variants have been proposed to further boost the performance. Well-recognized methods have focused on different components of AT (e.g., designing loss functions and leveraging additional unlabeled data).

A mathematical model of the effects of hypoxia on the cell-cycle of normal and cancer cells [PDF]
The evolution of the cell-cycle is known to be influenced by environmental conditions, including lack of extracellular oxygen (hypoxia). Notably, hypoxia appears to have different effects on normal and cancer cells.

Due to the close connection between the autonomic nervous system and skeletal system, large amounts of evidence have shown that neuromodulation plays a crucial role in regulating bone metabolism. Clinically, neuromodulation has exhibited promising therapeutic effects in treating joint disorders by significantly reducing inflammation and clinical scores.

Anisotropic Ejection from Active Asteroid P/2010 A2: An Implication of Impact Shattering on an Asteroid [PDF]
We revisited a mass ejection phenomenon that occurred in asteroid P/2010 A2 in terms of the dynamical properties of the dust particles and large fragments. We constructed a model assuming anisotropic ejection within a solid cone-shaped jet and succeeded in reproducing the time-variant features in archival observational images over ~3 years from 2010 ...
