Prognostic value of cyclin A2 and B1 expression in lung carcinoids

Pathology, 2019
Carcinoid classification in the lung is still based on morphological criteria. Although there are many studies investigating the role of Ki-67 proliferation index in the classification of lung neuroendocrine tumours, it is still not used in routine diagnostics.

Characterization of the G₂-M function of cyclin A2

2020
Cell cycle is tightly regulated in eukaryotic cells through the activation of cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) by cyclins. Among the cyclin families, cyclin A (cyclin A2) is notable for its dual functions during the cell cycle. While cyclin A is a well-known S-phase promoting factor, its precise role in the G 2 -M transition still remains obscure.

Cyclin A2 maintains colon homeostasis and is a prognostic factor in CRC.

2020
To clarify the function of cyclin A2 in colon homeostasis and colorectal cancer (CRC), we generated mice deficient for cyclin A2 in colonic epithelial cells (CEC). Colons of those mice displayed architectural changes in the mucosa, and signs of inflammation as well as an increased proliferation of CEC associated with the appearance of low- and high ...

331. INVESTIGATING THE ROLE OF CYCLIN A2 DURING OOCYTE MEIOSIS

Reproduction, Fertility and Development, 2010
Aneuploidy is often derived from chromosomal segregation errors in oocytes, leading to Down Syndrome and early embryo loss. Thus it is important to understand the molecular control of female meiosis. Cyclins and cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs), particular those contributing to Maturation Promoting Factor (MPF, or CDK1) activity, play key roles in ...

Cyclin A2 Plays a Critical Role in Proliferation of Lymphoid Progenitors

Blood, 2011
Abstract Abstract 914 Cell cycle regulators could be differentially used among self–renewing stem cells, rapidly expanding progenitor cells, and terminally differentiated cells those clonally replicate. Cyclin A is a regulatory subunit for cyclin dependent kinase (Cdk) 1 and Cdk2, and it drives S phase progression as well ...

The functions of cyclin A2 in the G₂ DNA damage checkpoint

2019
Cell cycle checkpoints work as a double-edged sword. On the one hand, they facilitate DNA repair thus promoting the survival of normal tissues; on the other hand, they might reduce the effectiveness of many cancer treatments. Recent clinical trials on CHK1 and WEE1 inhibitors explored the potential of increasing the toxicity of chemo-and radio-therapy ...
