The pathogenic mechanisms of pulmonary vascular endothelial cells (VECs) in lung diseases and their multimodal therapeutic strategies. ABSTRACT Pulmonary vascular endothelial cells (VECs) are essential for the normal function of the lung, through maintaining vascular barrier integrity, regulating blood flow, and participating in inflammatory responses ...

Screening for Potential Biomarkers in Peripheral Blood From Miners Exposed to Radon Radiation
In this cohort study of 144 miners, 72 miners worked underground (the study group) and 72 miners worked aboveground (the control group). Based on questionnaire data and of radon concentration measurements, the cumulative radon exposure dose was ...

The Broad Spectrum HDAC Inhibitor PCI-24781 Induces Caspase- and ROS-Dependent Apoptosis and is Synergistic with Bortezomib in Lymphoma [PDF]
We investigated the cytotoxicity and biology of the novel broad-spectrum hydroxamic acid-based histone deacetylase inhibitor (HDACi), PCI-24781. PCI-24781 was studied alone and combined with bortezomib in Hodgkin lymphoma (L428) and non-Hodgkin's ...

Bifurcation analysis of a model of the budding yeast cell cycle
We study the bifurcations of a set of nine nonlinear ordinary differential equations that describe the regulation of the cyclin-dependent kinase that triggers DNA synthesis and mitosis in the budding yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

A guide to the types, structures, and multifaceted functions of matrix metalloproteinases in cancer
Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) orchestrate cancer progression and metastasis through proteolytic and non‐proteolytic actions. By remodeling the tumor microenvironment, enhancing growth factor availability, and modulating cell behavior, MMPs promote proliferation, migration or invasion, and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition. Alongside extracellular

The soybean transcription factor GmMYB331 regulates oil content and seed size. Moderate expression of GmMYB331 significantly enhanced seed oil accumulation, and strong expression promoted increased seed size. This research provides a genetic resource and theoretical foundation for high‐yield and quality breeding in soybean.

Functional modules in the Arabidopsis core cell cycle binary protein-protein interaction network [PDF]
As in other eukaryotes, cell division in plants is highly conserved and regulated by cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) that are themselves predominantly regulated at the posttranscriptional level by their association with proteins such as cyclins. Although
