A gaseous hydrogen‐free catalytic system employing Raney Ni and HZSM‐5 with isopropanol upgrades lignin‐derived phenols into value‐added alkanes. By tuning catalyst ratios and temperature, selective pathways yield versatile products including propylbenzene (62%), 4‐propylcyclohexanol (92.2%), propylcyclohexene (93.3%), and propylcyclohexane (93.2 ...

Experiments and Modeling of the Autoignition of Methyl-Cyclohexane at High Pressure [PDF]
The autoignition delays of mixtures of methyl-cyclohexane (MCH), oxygen, nitrogen, and argon have been studied in a heated rapid compression machine under the conditions $P_C$ = 50 bar, $T_C$ = 690 - 910K. Three different mixture compositions were studied, with equivalence ratios ranging from $\phi$ = 0.5 - 1.5.

Experimentally demonstration of the repulsive Casimir force in the gold-cyclohexane-PTFE system [PDF]
The experimentally demonstration of Casimir force transition from attraction to repulsion is still challenging. Herein, the Casimir forces for a sphere above a plate immersed in different liquids were precisely measured using Atomic force microscope, and the long-range repulsive Casimir force in the gold-cyclohexane-PTFE system is observed for the ...

Photosynthesis of NH3 from NO3− Using CH4 in Homogenous Rhenium Catalysis
We present a Re catalysis of one‐pot synthesis of NH3 from NO3− using CH4 as a reductant under UV light irradiation. We are able to directly convert NO3−, leading to several environmental issues, to NH3, an essential compound as a fertilizer and industrial raw material, by means of CH4, which has a high affinity with renewable resource/energy, as a ...

Heterogeneous photocatalysis with metal‐loaded TiO2 photocatalysts under mild conditions can be utilized for various dehydrogenative cross‐coupling reactions, including the functionalization of aromatic rings via radical addition‐elimination or radical–radical coupling mechanisms, and the radical anti‐Markovnikov addition of alkenes. In some cases, the
