3‐[3‐(Phenalkylamino)cyclohexyl]phenols: Synthesis, biological activity, and in silico investigation of a naltrexone‐derived novel class of MOR‐antagonists

open access: yesArchiv der Pharmazie, Volume 356, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
Based on a simplified version of the morphinan scaffold, 3‐[3‐(phenalkylamino)cyclohexyl]phenol analogues were designed, synthesized and evaluated for their µ‐opioid receptor (MOR) antagonist activity in vitro and in silico. Docking studies indicate a peculiar combination of C‐1 stereochemistry and N‐substitutions as feasibly essential for MOR‐ligand ...

Elucidating the Boundary of Intercalation vs Sequestration in Supramolecular Polymers by Retrosynthetic Design Toward the Construction of Complex Supramolecular Systems

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
By retrosynthetically analyzing the molecular structure of an intercalator, clear design principles toward supramolecular sequestration can be obtained. Investigating a model supramolecular polymer in the presence of these additives offers a general approach toward dilution‐induced polymerization and complex hybrid systems of dual sequestration and ...

Organofluorine chemistry: Difluoromethylene motifs spaced 1,3 to each other imparts facial polarity to a cyclohexane ring

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2016
2,2-Dimethyl-5-phenyl-1,1,3,3-tetrafluororocyclohexane has been prepared and characterised as an example of a facially polarised cyclohexane containing 1,3 related CF2 groups. The dipolar nature of the ring arises from the axial orientation of two of the

Pure Hydrocarbon Hosts Enabling Efficient Multi‐Resonance TADF Blue‐Emitting Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The first application of pure hydrocarbon materials as hosts in phosphorescence‐sensitized multi‐resonance thermally activated delayed fluorescence (MR‐TADF) OLEDs is reported. Blue MR‐TADF OLEDs using either DtBuCzB or v‐DABNA as emitter and either FIrpic, fac‐Ir(tpz)3 or CN−Ir as sensitizer, achieved very high maximum external quantum efficiencies ...

Nanoscale heterogeneous phase separation kinetics in binary mixtures: Multistage dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
In order to find a measure of the dynamical features of phase separation kinetics during spinodal decomposition of a liquid binary mixture (like water and cyclohexane , water and 2,6 lutidiene or methanol and cyclohexane), we study both the initial fast exponential-like growth (the Cahn-Hilliard regime) and the subsequent cross-over to a much slower ...

Supramolecular Gels as Active Tools for Reaction Engineering

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The unique combination of environments within gels, self‐assembled from low‐molecular‐weight gelators, offers the ability to control reactivity in new ways, achieving unique reaction outcomes, leading to the emerging concept of supramolecular gels as nanoreactors. Smart chemical engineering methods enable the use of such gels to fabricate materials and

Enantioconvergent Deacylative Functionalization toward α‐Quaternary Nitriles

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
An enantioconvergent quaternary‐to‐quaternary synthesis of α‐chiral nitriles has been enabled. By replacing the acyl group with a variety of allyl, propargyl, and benzyl motifs, the functional group swap can convert easily available β‐ketonitriles to assorted quaternary stereocenters en route to bioactive molecules of broad interests.

Solvent Quality and Nonbiological Oligomer Folding: Revisiting Conventional Paradigms [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
We report on extensive molecular dynamics atomistic simulations of a \textit{meta}-substituted \textit{poly}-phenylacetylene (pPA) foldamer dispersed in three solvents, water \ce{H2O}, cyclohexane \ce{cC6H12}, and \textit{n}-hexane \ce{nC6H14}, and for three oligomer lengths \textit{12mer}, \textit{16mer} and \textit{20mer}.

Size‐Programmable Matteson‐Type Annulation: Construction of Spirocycles from Simple Cyclic Ketones

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
An iterative boron‐homologation approach is developed to enable programmable syntheses of various carbocycles with different sizes stereoselectively from simple precursors. This method utilizes an electron‐withdrawing group (EWG) as a handle to enable intramolecular Matteson‐type couplings, leading to diastereoselective and enantioselective ring ...
