In Situ Raman Spectroscopy of Supported Catalytically Active Liquid Metal Solutions (SCALMS)—Activation and Coking Behavior in Propane Dehydrogenation

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
In situ Raman spectroscopic characterization was applied to investigate supported catalytically active liquid metal solutions (SCALMS), revealing the role of hydrogen pretreatment and the formation of graphitic coke in propane dehydrogenation (PDH).

Electrochemical Analysis of the Electrocatalytic Reduction of 5‐Hydroxymethylfurfural in Cu Electrodes

open access: yesChemElectroChem, EarlyView.
This study analyzes the electrochemical reduction pathways of 5‐hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) on Cu electrodes. Our findings show that 2,5‐bis(hydroxymethyl)furan (BHMF) and 5‐methylfurfural (5‐MF) occurs through direct HMF reduction. Additionally, 5‐methylfurfural alcohol (MFA) can be produced either from HMF or 5‐MF, while 2,5‐dimethylfuran is derived ...

Synthesis and Electrochemical Investigations of a Binuclear [FeFe]‐Hydrogenase Mimic

open access: yesChemElectroChem, EarlyView.
Herein, a [FeFe]‐hydrogenase mimic with the benzene‐1,2‐dithiol ligand bearing two amino‐groups in 4‐ and 5‐position of the ligand is reported. The complex is active in the electrochemical hydrogen evolution reaction, and electrochemical investigation reveal an (E)ECEC mechanism for the hydrogen evolution reaction employing weak acids. Herein, a [FeFe]‐

Activation of Allenes by Diferrocenylphosphenium Ion: Isolation of a Wheland Intermediate of Ferrocene

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
A kinetically stable Wheland intermediate of the electrophilic aromatic substitution at ferrocene is isolated from the reaction of the diferrocenylphosphenium ion with the allene 2‐(trimethylsilyl)‐2,3‐pentadiene and fully characterized. The reaction of the diferrocenylphosphenium ion with four terminal allenes follows two different pathways, via allyl

Physicochemical Properties of New Ionic Liquids and Plastic Crystal Based on Huckel Anions

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 31, Issue 16, March 17, 2025.
To achieve optimal properties in organic ionic plastic crystals (OIPCs) and ionic liquids (ILs), new cations and anions must be investigated. A novel series of ILs and OIPC based on Huckel‐type anions were synthesised and characterised. Abstract There is increasing interest in ionic liquid electrolytes for battery applications due to their potential as

Aggregation, Photoluminescence, and Cytotoxicity of Pt(II) and Re(I) Complexes Bearing Multimodal‐Coordinating Luminophores

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A polydentate ligand with multiple coordination patterns (bidentate N*N‐mode for Pt(II) and Re(I) centers, tridentate C^N*N‐motive for Pt(II)‐based complexes) is herein presented. The attained coordination‐chemical versatility in combination with different co‐ligands was employed to achieve sophisticated structural features and tunable photophysical ...
