Antibiotic–Polycationic Peptide Conjugation as an Effective Strategy to Overcome Daptomycin Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Antimicrobial resistance necessitates the development of new antibiotics with “resistance‐breaking” properties. In this study, conjugation of polycationic peptides is proven to represent a versatile strategy for the fast and affordable reactivation of daptomycin.

Viscosities of iodobenzene + n-alkane mixtures at (288.15-308.15) K. Measurements and results from models [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Mol. Liq. 401 (2024) 124628
Kinematic viscosities were measured for iodobenzene + n-alkane mixtures at (288.15-308.15) K and atmospheric pressure. Using our previous density data, dynamic viscosities ($\eta$), deviations in absolute viscosity ($\Delta \eta$) and quantities of viscous flow were determined.

Upconversion‐Based Remote Deep Brain Modulation for Therapeutic Dissection of Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, EarlyView.
An upconversion‐based wireless optogenetic strategy enables an all‐optical deep brain modulation solution for treating Parkinson's disease in rodent animals without using electronics or any tethered cables, providing experimental evidence supporting a therapeutic mechanism of STN‐DBS by disruption of anterograde signal transmission along the indirect ...

Ortho-para spin conversion of Ps by paramagnetic O2 dissolved in organic compounds

open access: yesNukleonika, 2015
The o-Ps mean lifetime value in liquids decreases in the presence of the paramagnetic oxygen molecules via the ortho-para conversion process. This effect was observed for several organic samples composed of carbon and hydrogen atoms differing in the ...

Mesoscale solubilization and critical phenomena in binary and quasi binary solutions of hydrotropes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
Hydrotropes are substances consisting of amphiphilic molecules that are too small to self assemble in equilibrium structures in aqueous solutions, but can form dynamic molecular clusters H bonded with water molecules. Some hydrotropes, such as low molecular weight alcohols and amines, can solubilize hydrophobic compounds in aqueous solutions at a ...

Modelling of the gas-phase oxidation of cyclohexane [PDF]

open access: yesEnergy and Fuels 20 (2006) 1450-1459, 2007
This paper presents a modeling study of the oxidation of cyclohexane from low to intermediate temperature (650-1050 K), including the negative temperature coefficient (NTC) zone. A detailed kinetic mechanism has been developed using computer-aided generation.

Shape‐Selective Molecular Separations Enabled by Rigid and Interconnected Confinements Engineered in Conjugated Microporous Polymer Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Conjugated microporous polymer membranes with narrowly distributed network pores are prepared by diffusion‐modulated electropolymerization. This approach precisely controls the monomer diffusion and coupling processes, regulating the crosslinking degree to prevent broad aggregate pores and microporous defects.
