Simulation of motion in a cycloidal gear. Part I. Unloaded gear

open access: yesUniversity proceedings. Volga region. Technical sciences
Background. The article considers the motion in a planetary-pinion (cycloidal) gear made according to the k-h-v scheme. In the first part, various motion models in an unloaded gear are considered, which are necessary to estimate the rotation inaccuracy of the output element in a loaded gear.

Studies on Epitrochoid Gear for Cycloid Drives

open access: yesJournal of Mechanics, 2003
ABSTRACTCycloid drives are widely used in the industries because of their excellent characteristics, namely, high gear ratio, smooth transmission, compact size, high efficiency, low noise and long service life. In this paper, a mathematical model of an epitrochoid gear for a cycloid drive with a small tooth number difference has been proposed ...

Generating Cycloidal Gears for 3D Printing

open access: yes, 2016
(Shortened version of abstract in article itself) This article describes an algorithm for producing, for any desired resolution and any desired numbers of wheel and pinion teeth, polygonal approximations to the shapes of a pair of cycloidal gears that mesh correctly. An Octave implementation of the algorithm, mostly written in 2014, is included.

Theoretical Study on Meshing Stiffness of Cycloid-pin Gear Drive based on Energy Method

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2018
Based on energy method and Hertz contact theory,a calculation model of mesh stiffness of the cycloid-pin gear pair is proposed with considering the bending, shearing and compression deformation of the cycloid gear tooth as well as the bending, shearing ...

An Analysis of Power Friction Losses in Gear Engagement with Intermediate Rolling Elements and a Free Cage

open access: yesMathematics
Currently, mechanical gears with cycloid engagement are increasingly used in mechanisms along with involute ones. In modern drive mechanisms, using pin gears and gears with intermediate rolling elements (IRE) is widespread, which simultaneously use ...
