Recent Advances in Ene Reactions with Carbon Enophiles
Recent advances in the classical intra‐ and intermolecular ene nexus with carbon enophiles (alkenes, alkynes, arynes, and allenes) show a considerable increase in structural complexity and an enormous potential for functional applications in polymer science.

High‐quality, healthy indoor lighting is increasingly desirable. We present a strategy for constructing low‐energy white organic light‐emitting diodes (WOLEDs) using a blue emitter and a novel broad‐spectrum yellow emitter. The yellow OLEDs, incorporating this emitter, were fully cover the region from green to deep red with a full‐width of half ...

Expedient, Directed Ir‐Catalyzed Diborylation of (Hetero)Biaryls via a Tridentate Ligand
The iridium‐catalyzed diborylation of 2‐aryl pyridines and isoquinolines with B2pin2 is reported. Using [Ir(OMe)(COD)]2 and a terpyridine derivative as a tridentate ligand, the heterobiaryls were selectively diborylated at the 2,6‐positions of the carbocycle.

Synthesis of Mixed Phosphine–Phosphine Oxide Ligands by Rh(I)‐Catalyzed C─H Bond Alkylation
An efficient method for the synthesis of mixed phosphine–phosphine oxide ligands via Rh(I)‐catalyzed C─H bond alkylation of biarylphosphines was developed. The resulting hemilabile ligands demonstrate high reactivity in Pd‐catalyzed Buchwald–Hartwig coupling with ammonia, achieving excellent yields. This work highlights the potential of mixed phosphine–

A series of cationic and dicationic Ru-arene complexes with Binap (1a) and MeO-Biphep (1b) have been prepared. 13C NMR studies are shown to be useful in connection with recognising the 6e-bonding mode of 1a and 1b in the dications [Ru(1a or 1b)(η6-arene)

Cyclometallation of 8-methylquinoline and 2-(dimethylamino)-pyridine in an iridium-based pincer complex is described. The C−H activation of 2-(dimethylamino)pyridine is not chelation assisted, which has not been described before for Csp3−H bonds in ...

C–H activation through late transition metal cyclometallation. Addressing selectivity and reactivity problems. [PDF]
The ligand-directed C—H activation relies on a coordinating donor atom being in proximity to the C—H bond activated. Cyclometallation of 2-(1-naphthyl)-pyridine – a substrate containing both γ- and δ-positions in proximity to the directing nitrogen atom –

Cyclometalated Ruthenium Dyes for DSSC
A novel thiocyanate-free cyclometalated ruthenium sensitizer for solar cells is designed and developed. Upon anchoring to nanocrystalline TiO2 films, it exhibits a remarkable incident monochromatic photon-to-current conversion efficiency of 83%. The solar cell employing a liquid-based electrolyte exhibits a short circuit photocurrent density of 17 mA ...
