Aquaculture, 2016Abstract To investigate the possible family influence on sea lice grazing of lumpfish on Atlantic salmon, nine families of lumpfish (N = 360) with a mean (± SD) weight of 169.4 ± 8.3 g were distributed among nine sea cages (5 × 5 × 5 m) each stocked with 400 Atlantic salmon with a mean (± SD) weight of 123.3 ± 12.3 g.

Serum pigmentation in Cyclopterus lumpus L
Journal of Fish Biology, 1986Female lumpsuckers, Cyclopterus lumpus L., have blue‐green blood serum and subcutaneous gelatinous tissue; the male's are red/magenta in colour. The female serum contains a chromoprotein with biliverdin as the prosthetic group; the male serum contains the same biliverdin pigment but this is normally masked by a red pigment, probably phycoerythrin.
