Shelters can negatively affect growth and welfare in lumpfish if feed is delivered continuously [PDF]
Due to the socioeconomic importance of salmon farming in the North Atlantic and the economic impact of sea lice in this industry, there is high demand for novel pest control methods.

Development of genomic markers associated to growth-related traits and sex determination in lumpfish (Cyclopterus lumpus) [PDF]
Cleaner fish species have gained great importance in the control of sea lice, among them, lumpfish (Cyclopterus lumpus) has become one of the most popular.

New virus of the family Flaviviridae detected in lumpfish (Cyclopterus lumpus). [PDF]
In this study, we determined the complete coding sequence of a putative new member of the family Flaviviridae, named "Cyclopterus lumpus virus" (CLuV), which is associated with a serious disease in lumpfish (Cyclopterus lumpus). The virus was present in all tissues tested, but pathology was primarily observed in the liver and kidneys.

Short term cold storage and sperm concentration assessment of lumpfish (Cyclopterus lumpus. L) Milt [PDF]
There is increased commercial interest in the production of lumpfish (Cyclopterus lumpus) as a biological control against sea lice infections in Atlantic salmon farming.

Chromosome genome assembly and annotation of the spiny red gurnard (Chelidonichthys spinosus)
Chelidonichthys spinosus, a secondary economic fish, is increasingly being exploited and valued in China. However, overfishing has led to it being recognized as one of the most depleted marine species in China.

Lumpfish is the most important cleanerfish species in Atlantic salmon farming. Detailed information on the gonadal maturation process is a prerequisite for year-round production of juvenile lumpfish. In the present study we have described physiological, morphological and endocrine events associated with the annual reproductive cycle in lumpfish of both

Ova lipid profiling and egg quality in wild and captive lumpfish, Cyclopterus lumpus (Linnaeus, 1758) [PDF]
Lumpfish (Cyclopterus lumpus) serves an important role as cleaner fish for removing salmon lice in salmon aquaculture. For this use, cultivated lumpfish are preferred over wild-caught fish to avoid overexploitation of natural stocks and provide a stable ...
