Twenty-two novel microsatellite loci for lumpfish (Cyclopterus lumpus)
Lumpfish (Cyclopterus lumpus L. 1758) are widely distributed on both sides of the North Atlantic. They are a commercially important species, but stock size estimates have declined since the mid-1980s in Canada, Norway and Iceland. Little is known about the biology of this species, in particular the breeding migrations and population structure which are

First record of biofluorescence in lumpfish (Cyclopterus lumpus), a commercially farmed cleaner fish. [PDF]
This study is the first known observation of biofluorescence in the lumpfish (Cyclopterus lumpus). Individual lumpfish were illuminated with blue excitation lighting for photography with both hyperspectral and filtered multispectral cameras.

Accumulation of Gadolinium in organs of lumpfish (Cyclopterus lumpus)

Draft genome sequences of 13 Tenacibaculum maritimum isolates from farmed Norwegian Cyclopterus lumpus (lumpfish) and Scophthalmus maximus (turbot). [PDF]
Thirteen bacterial isolates of Tenacibaculum maritimum were sequenced and assembled. The strains were isolated from four disease outbreaks in farmed marine fish in Norway.

The morphology and sculpture of ossicles in the Cyclopteridae and Liparidae (Teleostei) of the Baltic Sea [PDF]
Small to very small bones (ossicles) in one species each of the families Cyclopteridae and Liparidae (Cottiformes) of the Baltic Sea are described and for the first time illustrated with SEM images. These ossicles, mostly of dermal origin, include dermal

High temperature is detrimental to captive lumpfish (Cyclopterus lumpus, L) reproductive performance [PDF]
There is increased commercial interest in the production of Lumpfish (Cyclopterus lumpus, Linnaeus, 1758) as a biological control for sea lice infections in Atlantic salmon farming. To ensure sustainability, reliable captive breeding is required however,

Shelters can negatively affect growth and welfare in lumpfish if feed is delivered continuously [PDF]
Due to the socioeconomic importance of salmon farming in the North Atlantic and the economic impact of sea lice in this industry, there is high demand for novel pest control methods.
