[Clinical usefulness of serum CYFRA21-1 in colorectal cancer].

Serum CYFRA21-1 levels were studied in 127 cases of colorectal cancer. The positive rates for serum CYFRA21-1 were 34.6% in primary colorectal cancer. There was a significant correlation between the positive rates of serum CYFRA21-1 and liver metastases, peritoneal dissemination, lymph node metastases, or clinical stage.

We evaluated "BALL ELSA CYFRA21-1" kit, an immunoradiometric assay kit for cytokeratin 19. Monoclonal antibodies KS19-1 and BM19-21 are used for immunoadsorbent and indicator, respectively. There was no problems in reproducibility, dilution test and recovery test. Minimum detectable concentration was 0.42 ng/ml.
