Mathematical Model of Piston Ring Sealing in Combustion Engine
This paper presents a mathematical model of piston-rings-cylinder sealing (TPC) of a combustion engine. The developed model is an itegrated model of gas flow through gaps in TPC unit, displacements and twisting motions of piston rings in ring grooves as ...

Method for determining eigen numbers in heat conduction problems for a cylinder
RELEVANCE. Due to the difficulties of finding eigenvalues and proper functions for bodies with axial (cylinder) and central (ball) symmetries defined in classical methods from the edge Sturm-Liouville problems, including Bessel equations whose exact ...

Material Characterization and Real-Time Wear Evaluation of Pistons and Cylinder Liners of the Tiger 131 Military Tank [PDF]
Material characterisation and wear evaluation of the original and replacement pistons and cylinder-liners of Tiger 131 is reported. Original piston and cylinder-liner were operative in the Tigers’ engine during WWII.

EQUIVARIANT HARMONIC CYLINDERS [PDF]
We prove that a primitive harmonic map is equivariant if and only if it admits a holomorphic potential of degree one. We investigate when the equivariant harmonic map is periodic, and as an application discuss constant mean curvature cylinders with screw motion symmetries.

Synchrotron radiation inside a dielectric cylinder
We investigate the electromagnetic fields generated by a charged particle rotating inside a dielectric cylinder immersed into a homogeneous medium. The expressions for the bound modes of the radiation field are derived in both interior and exterior ...
