Cylindrical Anisotropic Dielectric Resonator Antenna With Improved Gain
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2017Uniaxial anisotropic material obtained by parallel layers of two different dielectrics is used to obtain a cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna (CDRA). As a consequence of the anisotropy, the boresight gain of the antenna is increased. The effect of the height-to-radius ratio on the boresight gain variation is also investigated. It is shown that by

Split Ring Resonator Loaded Cylindrical Dielectric Resonator Antenna
2018 11th UK-Europe-China Workshop on Millimeter Waves and Terahertz Technologies (UCMMT), 2018We present a novel technique for the miniaturization of dielectric resonator antennas (DRAs) based on the magneto-dielectric concept. This is achieved by artificially inducing a strong magnetic resonance inside the DRA with a split ring resonator. The $\text{HE}_{11\delta}$ mode of the cylindrical DRA is excited via the slot under the DRA.
