A Composite, Multilayered Cylindrical Dielectric Resonator

MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 2005
The analysis of TE modes in a composite multilayered cylindrical dielectric resonator is presented. All cylindrical dielectric resonator structures which have found some practical applications can be treated as a special case of the structure under consideration. These include: single resonator, double resonator, ring resonator, resonator in microstrip,

Cylindrical dielectric resonator for Josephson plasma resonance measurement

Superconductor Science and Technology, 2006
The design of a cylindrical dielectric cavity operated in various TMnmp modes, suitable for Josephson plasma resonance measurements of small superconducting high-Tc single crystals, is described. Its resonant frequencies are calculated analytically using the perturbation theory and compared with experimental results.

The resonant cylindrical dielectric cavity antenna

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1983
An experimental investigation of the radiation and circuit properties of a resonant cylindrical dielectric cavity antenna has been undertaken. The radiation patterns and input impedance have been measured for structures of various geometrical aspect ratios, dielectric constants, and sizes of coaxial feed probes.

Compact cylindrical sector dielectric resonator antennas

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium. 1998 Digest. Antennas: Gateways to the Global Network. Held in conjunction with: USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting (Cat. No.98CH36194), 2002
We investigate cylindrical sector dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) geometries that are formed by removing a sector (or equivalently a wedge) of dielectric material from a circular cylinder. The advantage this geometry offers, compared to conventional cylindrical DRAs, are reductions in volume, support of "fractional modes", and allowance of dual ...

Cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna arrays

11th International Conference on Antennas and Propagation (ICAP 2001), 2001
In this paper, the study of dielectric resonator antenna arrays is reported. The results of two- and four-element linear arrays in two configurations and a four-element planar array are presented. It is shown that different configurations can be used to form cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna broadside arrays.

High Q calcium titanate cylindrical dielectric resonators for magnetic resonance microimaging

Journal of Magnetic Resonance, 2009
At high magnetic fields radiation losses, wavelength effects, self-resonance, and the high resistance of typical components all contribute to increased losses in conventional RF coil designs. High permittivity ceramic dielectric resonators create strong uniform magnetic fields in a compact structure at high frequencies and can potentially solve some of

Radiation characteristics of cylindrical dielectric resonator antennas

Conference Proceedings '88., IEEE Southeastcon, 2003
The radiation patterns of cylindrical dielectric resonator antennas excited with a TM/sub 11/ mode are computed numerically using the method of moments. The numerical data obtained are in good agreement with available experimental results. The effect of the ground plane size, dielectric constant, and resonator dimensions on the radiation patterns are ...

Wideband and Replaceable Cylindrical Dielectric Resonator Antennas

2020 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Workshop Series on Advanced Materials and Processes for RF and THz Applications (IMWS-AMP), 2020
A wideband and replaceable dielectric resonant antenna (DRA) excited by a probe is investigated. The proposed wideband DRA consists of a probe platform and a solid cylindrical dielectric resonator, and two magnets are applied to fix them. In this way, the dielectric resonator can be easily replaced.

Wideband circularly polarized cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna

2017 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation & USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2017
A wideband circularly polarized (CP) cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is presented. The DRA is excited in its fundamental HEM11δ mode. A U-shaped slot and a fork-like feed line are used to obtain circularly polarized fields. For demonstration, a prototype operating at 2.4-GHz WLAN band was studied. The reflection coefficient, axial ratio (

Reduced lateral wave cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna

2009 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2009
A reduced-lateral-wave cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is presented, which produces very little lateral radiation at the horizon. The design technique centers on finding an optimal aspect ratio of height to radius for the DRA to minimize the lateral radiation.
