Tapered waveguide fed cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna
2016 Loughborough Antennas & Propagation Conference (LAPC), 2016A cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) excited by a rectangular waveguide with tapered section is presented in this paper. By introducing a tapered section of waveguide between the rectangular waveguide and square ground plane, the coupling to a low permittivity DRA can be improved substantially. Moreover, it offers a 10 dB bandwidth of 6.34%

Anisotropic Radially Three-Layer Cylindrical Dielectric Resonator
2007 17th International Crimean Conference - Microwave & Telecommunication Technology, 2007Eigen oscillations of a radially three-layer cylindrical dielectric resonator bounded with two perfectly conducting end surfaces are studied. The characteristic equation for the anisotropic resonator buried into anisotropic medium is obtained. The numerical investigations of the resonator with internal and external layers made of Teflon and middle ...

Cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna for wireless applications
2015 23rd Telecommunications Forum Telfor (TELFOR), 2015The paper presents a CDRA (Cylindrical Dielectric Resonator Antenna) designed for wireless military and commercial applications. The antenna has been designed to radiate at 6.7 GHz, with a 160 MHz bandwidth at −10 dB. The antenna is made from a dielectric material with high quality factor.

Compact Cylindrical Pattern-Diversity Dielectric Resonator Antenna
IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2020A compact cylindrical pattern-diversity dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is designed using the HEM11δ and TM01δ modes, which are the fundamental modes of the hybrid electromagnetic (HEM) and TM modes, respectively. To make the two resonance frequencies equal for the diversity operation, a meander-line-loaded annular slot is used to excite the TM01δ ...

Microstripline fed Cylindrical Sector Dielectric Resonator Antenna
2005 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference Proceedings, 2006Experimental study on a cylindrical sector dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is presented. Two configurations of the DRA fed with a 50 /spl Omega/ microstrip transmission line are discussed which excites the broadside transverse magnetic modes TM/sub 12/spl delta// and TM/sub 22/spl delta// respectively.

FDTD modeling of cylindrical dielectric resonator filters
Proceedings of IEEE. IEEE Region 10 Conference. TENCON 99. 'Multimedia Technology for Asia-Pacific Information Infrastructure' (Cat. No.99CH37030), 2003In this paper the FDTD method is applied to accurately model cylindrical dielectric resonator filters. The Pade approximation is combined with this process to obtain more accurate frequency response. Numerical results are compared to those by the mode-matching method in the literature to verify the present approach. It shows good agreement.

A novel enclosed cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna
.7th IEEE High Frequency Postgraduate Student Colloquium, 2003Present and future communication systems impose strict requirements on the type and bandwidth of antennas. Wideband antennas which include an integrated filtering system are emerging to fulfil such requirements. We propose a dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) which is believed to be a suitable building block for such antennas. The new DRA consists of a

Square arrays of cylindrical dielectric resonator antennas
IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium. 1999 Digest. Held in conjunction with: USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting (Cat. No.99CH37010), 2003The single-element DRA has been well studied but its antenna gain is limited to -5 dBi. In some applications a higher antenna gain may be required. Therefore, researchers have to design different types of DRA arrays to improve the antenna gain performance.

Analysis of via‐fed cylindrical dielectric resonator antennas
Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2020AbstractIn this letter, a study of a feeding technique applicable to cylindrical dielectric resonator antennas is presented. The feeding technique analyzed is based on vias glued at the lateral wall of the cylindrical resonator. A series of parametric studies, in terms of the orientation, position and dimensions of the vias, has been carried out to ...
