The acoustic resonance of rectangular and cylindrical cavities [PDF]

open access: yes13th AIAA/CEAS Aeroacoustics Conference (28th AIAA Aeroacoustics Conference), 2007
An investigation is conducted on the acoustic resonance that develops in rectangular and cylindrical cavities with rigid walls. An analytical model for the small amplitude acoustic perturbations inside an enclosure with rigid walls is developed from classical linerized acoustics.

Cylindrical Shell Vibration Gyroscope Excited and Detected by High-Temperature-Sintered Piezoelectric Ceramic Electrodes

open access: yesSensors, 2020
A cylindrical shell piezoelectric vibration gyroscope is a kind of Coriolis vibration gyroscope. Its core components are the cylindrical quartz resonator (CQR) and the piezoelectric ceramic electrodes (PCEs).

Whispering Gallery Mode Resonators for Precision Temperature Metrology Applications

open access: yesSensors, 2021
In this work, the authors exploited the whispering gallery mode (WGM) resonator properties as a thermometer. The sensor is made of a cylindrical sapphire microwave resonator in the center of a gold-plated copper cavity. Two coaxial cables act as antennas

Cylindrical Resonator Utilizing a Curved Resonant Grating as a Cavity Wall [PDF]

open access: yesMicromachines, 2012
A thin-film grating on a curved substrate functions as a highly reflective and wavelength sensitive mirror for a diverging wave that has the same curvature as the substrate. In this paper we propose a cylindrical cavity surrounded by a curved resonant grating wall, and describe its resonance characteristics. Through finite-difference time-domain (FDTD)

Circular polarized 3D-printed cylindrical DRA using parasitic dielectric helix

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
This article presents a 3D-printed cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna operating at 5.8 GHz that achieves circular polarization by integrating a fully dielectric parasitic helix with a higher permittivity than the cylindrical resonator.

Two-Dimensional Phononic Crystal Based Sensor for Characterization of Mixtures and Heterogeneous Liquids

open access: yesSensors, 2022
We show new approaches to developing acoustic liquid sensors based on phononic crystals. The proposed phononic crystal integrates fluidic elements. A solid block with periodic cylindrical holes contains a defect—a liquid-filled cylindrical cavity. We pay

Calculation of the Properties of Reentrant Cylindrical Cavity Resonators [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2007
The lowest resonant frequencies of reentrant cylindrical cavity resonators are calculated using the method of moments to obtain upper and lower bounds. The accuracy and convergence of the results are investigated and the factors and shunt impedances calculated.

Trimming of Imperfect Cylindrical Fused Silica Resonators by Chemical Etching

open access: yesSensors, 2019
The cylindrical resonator gyroscope (CRG) is a kind of solid-state gyroscope with a wide application market. The cylindrical resonator is the key component of CRG, whose quality factor and symmetry will directly affect the performance of the gyroscope ...

On the Influence of Certain Geometric Characteristics of the Resonator on the Impedance Determined by the Dean’s Method

open access: yesAcoustics, 2022
This article considers the influence of the orifice arrangement in a cover of a cylindrical resonator on the impedance determined by the Dean’s method. A resonator with a small height and a low perforation degree is studied.

TWO-LAYERED QUASIOPTICAL SAPPHIRE RESONATOR FOR BIOLIQUIDS DIELECTROMETRY [PDF]

open access: yesРадиофизика и электроника, 2017
WGM resonators can be used for studies of condensed matter, especially for the study of the dielectric liquids properties. However, the electromagnetic properties of the real resonator structures are not well understood.
