Comparisons are made with a solid roller bearing having the same configuration and dimensions. Lubrication of cylindrical rollers with surface corrugations

Abstract The paper shows how the wavelength of corrugations on a cylindrical roller strongly influences its hydrodynamic properties. It is further shown how these properties, as the wavelength decreases, tend towards those obtained by the authors' probabilistic roughness theory.
